The following is a post from www.shaykh.org (Advice of Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat as recorded by Ummi Aarifah)

"Deen is not that you type a few words into Google and then read and accept whatever comes up to be correct and authentic. You need to know the source, the scholar and the chain of his teachers. This chain should lead to the Prophet sallalhu alayhi wasallam. One cannot learn authentic knowledge from unknown sources and scholars. Allamah Ibn Seereen Rahimahullah has said":

Indeed this knowledge is your religion. Therefore be aware of whom you take your religion from

You are right in a sense. But today it is the system. Everyone is just googling and learning what they found there. But it's not the system. We should research a info then learn it.

I like the word of Allamah Ibn Seereen Rahimahullah

Indeed this knowledge is your religion. Therefore be aware of whom you take your religion from

W-Salam,

The solution has two parts in it:

Part 1: Informing Muslims that we shouldn't take our Deen from google as Shaykh (HA) has done

Part 2: Creating and maintaining good, professional sites and blogs which people can visit for their Islamic knowledge

Part 2 is where we are lagging behind. It doesn't take money but it takes the will to do it.

You are right. Today people spend most of the times in internet. They visit various forums and social networking sites. They believe what they found there. So if Muslim related good sites or blogs are created then people would have the option to know about the religion (Islam) and they won't be misguided.
