Assalamu Alaykum

The statement above forms the end of the Moonsighting Criteria for Batley. I hope these serve to reiterate that in short, we are all working on the same side, and differences of opinion, by the majority at least, are amicable and conducted with academic eloquence, as per Sunnah.

Asslamo Allaikum,

Good start and lets hope that the Batley Ulama will stick to what they are saying, Insha'Allah.

Asslamo Allaikum,

Before I pose my questions which have been burning for a while, the following disclaimers must come handy :)

1) I am just an ordinary joe who is not involved in Tableeghi Jamaats (day to day efforts) although I have made some humble efforts in the past and am aware of the Usools of the work to some degree because of my past association with Nizamuddin & Raiwind

2) I am neither against the work, nor against the workers nor have any axe to grind with anyone

3) I am not a Gujrati so not influenced by the Surati/Baroochi debate

4) I am not from UK so have no pending loyalties/allegiances towards any groups here

Here are the two question:

a) What concern is it of Dewsbury Markaz to meddle into moon sighting or any other affairs? In India/Pakistan the Shura & the Buzurgs refer to and accept the Fatawa of Major Darul-ulooms & don't directly involve themselves into anything (but the work)...I personally know that they even refer Tableghees to local Ulama for Mas'ail. Why have Dewsbury Markaz broken the Usool and entangled themselves into this affair?

b) When Hazrat Jee (RA) wrote the letter to Hafiz Saheb (DB) about moon sighting, why wasn't it auctioned or even announced? It is not a private letter and it clearly says that it should be read out in Shura?

I know from my past experience that we used to write to Hazrat Jee (RA) to get permission to be involved in Non-Tableeghi Affairs and sometimes we got permitted and sometimes we got denied but in this case Hazrat Jee (RA)'s letter is fairly clear i.e.

c) He hadn't permitted anyone to get involved in this mayhem in the first place

d) He gave explicit instructions on how to resolve it, which were not adhered to

So what I am missing Brothers/Sisters, please let me know?

P.S.: From my conversations with Maulana Bilal, Maulana Abdur-Raheem etc.; I have an idea as to what the problem is from the Darul-Uloom Bury's perspective, but honestly I have no clue as to what's up with Dewsbury Markaz?

Bicknell seminar and Moulana Makki I hope my email finds you in the best of health, further I feel it is of utmost importance that I share with you information regarding the gathering held on Wednesday hosted by the Bicknell Committee members, Blackburn, this was a meeting trying to clarify the moon issue, (and maybe a direct response to the LMC meeting, hosting the Wifaq ul Ulama) the chief guest and speaker being MOULANA SAEED INAYATULLAH MAKKI, a Pakistani Aalim who teaches in Madrassah Sulaitiyah. This programme was at first for hand picked pro Saudi Ulama, but fortunately unbiased Allah fearing Ulama from Blackburn and Preston managed to gain permission to attend the gathering. Moulana Saheb gave a 45 minute Bayaan, then announced "I am here till MORNING 10-00 am to answer your questions," but within 25 minutes Moulana Makki had no option but to call it a day. He only accepted five questions, not even ONE was answered satifactorily, He actually stopped some Ulama from asking more than one question, and this in a gathering where 95% were pro Saudi!! And he was left saying "come to the house where I am staying, I will answer you there" I wonder why? This statement coming from a person who very loudly announced "I am here till MORNING 10-00 am to answer your questions" these Ulama then went to the house aswell but their thirst was not quenched, he was reminded by the Ulama, that the Fataawaa he used in his Bayaan are retracted Fataawaas upon which the Moulana remarked that he was not aware of the present Fataawaa, he concluded by saying "when Mufti Taqi Saheb Comes to UK let him deal with this, and you do as he says!!!!!!!!!!!! I would have been happy at that and not given this statement, but now I have become aware that this same Moulana despite this first one one being a total farce has kept another programme on moon sighting in Walsall, and he has been called here solely for this purpose, let me remind the Muslims: A son cannot become the witness for his father, nor can a slave be a witness for master. This is a religious Mas'alah, we all know that a person living in Saudi cannot NEVER EVER go against the government, as otherwise long term prison stares him in the face. Hence first thing is why should any one want to hear from him what happens in Saudi? Secondly when he is not even aware of whether the stict Hanafi principlesof Jamme Ghafeer is met, (as he accepted in Blackburn) why is he talking about something he does not know and further contributing to the spoiling of Ibaadaat of many. Thirdly he is not even aware of the present Fataawaa, now he has been made aware, what does his Diyaanat tell him; to continue, or search for the truth? Those who are hosting this Moulana should be ashamed that they have not made their guest aware of the moon situation here, nor have they acted on sincerity by giving him up to date Fataawaa's, now this Moulana should really think twice before he accepts a programme on moon sighting, as to be truthful the to Defend the Hizb/Jasmiat stance on following Saudi is totally a lost cause. it is trying to defend the undefendable, which is IMPOSSIBLE, this Baycharah Moulana is being put on the front line and being made a scapegoat by Hizb ul Ulama whose leaders fail to even acknowledge letters and invitations, never mind come out in the open to publically defend their very wrong stance. I hope this Moulana understands that it is not worth leading people away from the correct Sunaah for material wealth and honour. we in UK are fully aware of the fact that our Ulama (in Saudi) have NO say in any matters there, hence why get involved , and he himself has proved this point by accepting he is not aware of whether the necessary condition of Jamme Ghafeer is met at times of Ramadhan and Eid, when the skies are clear. My message to all Ulama who believe in the truth is if this Moulana Saeed Imdadullah Makki attempts another biased programme on moon sighting, then we should go there not with the intention of disrupting a programme but with the good intention of rectifying him and reminding him of His Allah given duties to tell the TRUTH and only the TRUTH. This moulana hopefully has got the knowledge of what the Saudi Shuyookh advise as regards to local sighting so I wont, go into any more detail.

Asalaams,

Humble request. Can we keep those emails that in circulation off. They are getting worse and worse - though some parts of the 3-4 emails to date are factual the way they are beginning to come across are more and more distasteful.

far as i know since last ramdhan 07 some are now calling the Hazrejee letter a fake. Which is a change from the last stance of some who initially said regards the letter that despite Hazratjee's letter/naseeha Markaz cant get involved as its a Masail matter for the main UK darul loom/s to sort out.??

A very bad article. Full of hate, anger, high level of discrimination and aiming to saw discord between Muslims. Very disturbing. The writer has demonstrated very poor reasoning, I'll information and an overly critical tone.

The article writer's motives are highly questionable.

Islam teaches us speak that which is GOOD or remain silent.
Please, no one should post articles like this one.
Wassalaam.

Bismillah.

As Salaamu Alaykum.

@Abuismail....I think the more pertinent question is why you have chosen to update a thread from 2008 containing a long forgotten and discarded article, posted 10 years ago.?

This is the first time I saw this post, and I guess because brother abuismail bumped it up, the thread came up on my feed, otherwise I would not have known of its existence. However, it is an important thread and gives insight into the moonsighting issue in the UK.
