This post is not to wish anyone a merry christmas nor a happy new year. It is in fact a case of concern that statistics and numbers show a heavy decrease in activities evolving around Islam and the community . Could this be the programmes scheduled on TV aimed at the youth which glues them to the box during this period or could it be the sales which has everyone emptying their pockets on the high streets?
Should Masaajid and organizations increase Islamic activities during non-Islamic festive seasons?
I think as the generations are going along it would be good to have activities for the muslims of today reagrding these non islamic festivals arond about the time they celebrate them as this will educate the youth and muslims of today. Me personally and i speak for myself have seen and come across many muslims who are of the opinion that it is okay to celebrate christamas as we live in this country or that there is no harm it is only fun....this concerns me because if these are the thoughts of muslims todays then what of those in years to come.
Brilliant idea would be to educate them regarding these festivals....

During the christmas holidays, it would be a great idea for masaajids to have some sort of play scheme running in their local centres. Or having day trips/camping etc
What I also find pain staking, are muslim fathers/elder brothers taking the young ones for trick or treating on the night of Halloween.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
