Salamu aliakum, i think there should be a place, were everyone places something they learnt, as part of life, part of an experience, part of daily events.

Something a teacher said, a friend, a moment of contemplation, etc. We should share it, how you see things, what you see, the angles, etc. As Muslims, we should be learning each and every day, as they say, if you are same everyday, then in reality you are falling down, why, for you are not progressing.

So, something your mum said, bus driver, a butterfly, etc. Any inspiration that was sent to you by the Most Kind, share it, so we all learn.

Alhamdulillah, brilliant idea!

Recently I had a minor operation. (operation was regarding one of my organs) It got me contemplating on the organs of a human body. The role it has in a body. As I had needles pierced in my arm in different places and for various reasons, it also got me thinking about the veins, arteries etc.
I have never studied in depth. The only knowledge that remains with me is from seconday science classes!! (More than 10 yrs ago!!)
I find it so amazing how Allah سبحانه وتعالى has created humans in such detail. Also, I used to think (as a child) why we have hair in our nostril. Then I came to know that Allah placed it there for a reason. (filters what we breath in)

Alhamdulillah!!

Shame, others havent posted anything.

I was thinking about something the other day, during work. I was listening to some nasheeds on my mp3 player, and then a staff member was saying something, as i had something playing, i could'nt understand his words, nor hear his words.

Reflecting on that, after that day, i was thinking, how we all do that in our lifes too. Sometimes we are so 'engrossed' or into our lifes, we forget our dear ones, i.e brothers, mum, dad, even a distant cousin.

We are 'listening' to our lifes so much, those who try to reach us, make attention for us, even scream to us, we just either ignore them, or don't understand them.

I think, we should try and change that in our lifes. There are so many friends we need to 'catch up with'. In this time and age, such moving times, such fast times, we really need to hold strong. Do this small task, go down your phone book, and out of all of them, maybe only say 3 or 5 people you have called, or call regularly.

What about the rest, don't we care about the welfare of others, don't we worry about those friends, are they praying, are they working, are they studying, etc. Its strange, how we have certain qualities, of just 'me, myself, and i'.

Who's next..

recently we had a family member pass away, it's amazing what affects losing a loved one has oneself. like the brother states, we are all in a world of 'me, myself and I'. its not until i hear of someone departing from this world that Alhamdulillah i am reminded, 'nothing matters', wealth, material gain, worldy goals and aspirations, problems, falling out with people, etc. BECAUSE when we die we wont even be taking the underwear were wearing (sorry, just my thought).

the only things that will matter is the time we took for others, the kindness the help, the relationship we keep with family and friends despite how we feel about them, because at the family funeral we attended, the amount of people who went out of their way to attend the janazah and console the family was overwhelming most of who attended because they were helped in their time of need by the deceased. without a doubt i felt that it was these people more then any others that would send ethale-sawab (prayers of reward) to the deceased for a long time to come.

will be posting an article soon called 'ME, MYSELF AND I' in the NTI section or wherever admin see's fit, hope users take the time to read it because its a real good read.

Remember the following sentence when about 2 do a wrong action.

"ONE STEP ON UR NAFS, IS ONE STEP CLOSER TO JANNAH".

(Advice given to a cousin in Jamaat).

One elder, who returned from 40 day, Jamat, related to me and another brother something quite nice.

He said; We count how many times we say SubhanAllah, Alhamdulilah, 33 or 34 times, after salat or after morning. Whilst when we talk, we have no count, without no measure we say what we want and carry on.

He said, why isnt it the other way round, we count how many words we speak, and we 'remember' Allah without count, and without stop.

It was something amazing he said.

Just finished looking at the calender as I had to make notes for coming events. Just realised how fast this year is going!! These months sure are creeping upon us. It has made me realise how many days have gone without zikr or other things that were regular in my life. It is scary that we are nearly half way through this year. Time passing quickly - A sign of Qiyamah.

Not feeling too well today, just the regular infection, and i thought alhamdulillah how Allah Subhaanahu wa ta'ala under normal situations, before i became 'poorly' kept everything in order for me..how my head wasnt hurting..or nose feeling heavy..or wasnt feeling like im about to drop down any second..ALHAMDULILLAH..did i really thank Allah appropriately during this time of complete health?no!!!will i ever be able to thank Him for all He gives without our asking Him to do so?no!!!

So i thought let me remember to thank Allah for my health..even things that i take for granted day in day out like no headache, or feeling steady or no runny nose..are tremendous gifts from Allah!!!

Alhamdulillahi rabbil aalameen.!!

Also, i remebered from the hadith..'take care of five before five..'one of them was health before sickness!Alhamdulillah!

I was thinking the other day, as we all use the 'tube'.

Isn't it really facinating that the journey on the tube can reveal few secrets of our life and our condition.

When we get on the train, we are taken from one place to another without actually moving or doing anything.

The same can be said about our lifes. Our life will move, days will pass, hours will go, we will not be able to stop that, like the train will move. Even if we do not do anything, life shall carry on. We are on a train that is moving each day.

It is up to us view the tree's outside, or just sleep and let the train whizz by. We have each day as a day of harvest, if we do not use the day to harvest, then night comes, then the next day, until the weather isnt fit enough to harvest, it will be our loss.

Life keeps on going, the train will go, unless we decide to 'stop' one stop early and use our time properly.

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

This thought comes from my current rotation on a trauma ward

On Friday whilst on the ward I came across a 30 year old female patient...She was involved in a accident whereby a bus hit her and drove her into a fence...she was left blind and had a leg amputated...she has not yet realised the extent of damage since she is in and out of consciousness...before this incident she was an independent and fully mobile individual..

When I read through the notes I felt a shiver go down my spine...it just made me realise how we take all the simple blessings of life such as being able to see and to be able to walk and to be independent for granted. Have we ever contemplated on what life would be like if any one of these blessings was taken away from us?

Alahmdullilah ala kulli haal

Wassalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

How do we reflect on the 'view on sins'...

One inspiration came from the One above, the Most kind. I was thinking, then i related it to another brother too, how that when we go driving. Imagine we go somewhere, like scotland or the 'highlands', the roads are quite steep and its quite difficult to drive up there or any place that is quite high up.

For those who drive will know, or for those who are taking lesson, its quite scary, trying to push ones car, along the hill side road. It occured to me, that our journey is somewhat similar to this example.

In the sense that, the more we try to reach Allah, the path to it, gets 'higher', and thus in our lifes we find things more difficult to do. Its not difficult in 'doing', rather getting to that level to do the action is 'difficult'.

For example, praying at night, crying, avoiding things, etc. They are, for those who do the actions, very easy actions to do, but to be able to do them, its 'hard'.

For those who have reached and passed one hill, they are able to work on that level, for those who passed something a bit higher, its easy for them to work on that level, etc, its the point of getting to those level that takes one self to test and the actual struggle is. How can a great women wali, pray all night and say it wasn't enough and actually cry over the sun rising?.

The other point i was thinking is about the hill side and our sins. For example, if you take your car and go up hill, the more things you have in your boot, the more difficult the journey shall be. I mean unnessary stuff.

The same thing can be applied to the journey to reach higher levels in the deen, in spirituality, in actions. Sins are those 'useless baggage' that we carry with us. If we really did alot of 'istighfar', its a way of losing those extra 'bags' in order to drive quicker and walk faster. I think it can't be stressed enough on us doing 'istighfar' alot, even having a daily 100 that we do, how much useless bags we accumulate during the whole day, and we expect to travel 'faster' and quicker' in our reach to Allah...

SOmething interesting to think about.. request of your duas.

assalamualaikum wr wb,
gr8 idea sadiq, probably one of the best threads i`ve come across in any forum... better thank Allah for inspiring it to u.

I`d like to share something that i have learnt out of personal experience. Patience. Its such a wonderfull thing. Ever since i became a "practicing muslim" i realised the greatest gift is patience. Its solves so many of the problems that we create for our selves. E.g ( something i`ve seen on the roads of Karachi a gazillion times ) those people who get impatient try to make creative illegal manouvers to get out of a traffic jam only to end up in a bigger mess or end up being the reason for a bigger traffic mess.

Similarly i have seen so many times when some one is screaming at you or is angry with you, the best way to cool the other person down is to just stay shut....just keep quite and accept your mistakes even though u know u`re not wrong.....do it for Allah, accept a mistake as yours only so that the other persons anger goes away...and if that persons anger goes away from u falsely taking blame on yourself and then quitely listening to the anger, u will see how you will take a potential danger off of others heads...that person who was angry is now not angry and many other people might escape his wrath now......patience can solve so many of our problems. I have noticed almost all the mistakes that i have made have been out of "impatience" when ever i have let go of the rope of patince i have faultered...

hope this advice helps.....so just listen to your old dad or mum when they`re angry...and smile to yourself in heart that Allah is being pleased by this deed of yours, blv me or not i assure u this exercise WILL ( inshAllah ) result in you loving your parents more and your parents loving YOU more...
