as salaamu alaikum,

hmm what do we think of the west? Do we hate them (westerners) like they say in the media?

American media says that Muslims in other countries hate America because Americans have "freedom and money" and Muslims dont. This is what they told their children after 9/11.

so what is the truth? do we really?

Where's the democracy?

In Islam: The Khaleefah (leader) has never ruled the people, the Qur'aan has.

In The West: Do you see the citizens happy?

3 days, Kerry (who aint no better than Bush, just smarter 300%) put Bush down in every one of his deed and decision. Proved him wrong, made him look more confused than a chimpanzee. The votes twice declared Bush Lost. Yet, which C grade student is running the country? The same chimpanzee.. G. W. Bush

Where's the freedom to vote?

[quote="The West"]Freedom of speech

Yes, freedom to speak for war, freedom to speak against Muhammad (s).

Where's the freedom when peace makers speak? That freedom is apprently arrested for having links to Al-Qaeda

[quote="The West"]Freedom of Religion

Question: When was the last time a Church got raided by police?
Answer: I wonder

Question: When would a Church be raided by police?
Answer: When the church is converted into a Mosque

I'm sure that says alot...

So, who has freedom? Islam or the west? The state of Crime, women, colleges and universities, people with 2 or 3 jobs just to live a simple life, the respect for women left, the amount of respect for other religions are just some of the things which makes Islam the only religion of freedom whereas the west do not even care for their own. Living a day in the west has enough proof of this that there is no need to provide any more.

That is what I make of the west.

Salaam.
My first time on this site this is a really Interesting debate.

One thing you have to hand to the west is the fact that they can very quickly and easily divide the musilm world.

The west may be divided as well but they are unitited against Muslims in their so called War on Terror.

Why are we as Muslims so divided
Hasnt anybody heard the famous saying:
"United we stand. Divided we fall"

W/salam,

The thing is, they have always tried to divide the Muslims. The only difference is, before they tried to divide true strong Muslims and failed. Today they divide weak Muslims and succeed. So the efforts haven't changed, the targets have. That I think is the real source of their success. The weak Imaan and the love of their lifestyles

so, it would be true to say, the blame of our division falls on ourselves, because we are not true or strong Muslims.

we are always blaming the west for everything, when we ourselves are not abiding by the sunnah or commandments of Allah swt. im bewildered when muslims immitate the non-muslims, and when they meet practicing muslims they say, you're too deep.

time to be real muslims, no wannabe's or will be's, or going to be, time us to look at ourselves, reflect and change.

ASslam-0-alikum nice discussion mashahAllah ...!!

agree with Brother Yasin and Sis Talibah,,,first peep in ourselevs ARE WE MUSLIMS????Allah's promise is always true and will be ever ,,but first we have to be true muslims and momin to get blessed by the Allah's blessings and support,,,

There is a long list but just consider few things why we are divided and why we are not united,,,why there are so many sects,,, our beloved Prophet MUHAMMAD (PBUH) says.. 1...one who does not safeguard the TRUST isnot a believer...(BAYHIQI) 2...one who is not trustworthy is a HYPOCRITE..(BUKHARI)...so are we believers????are we muslims?? now read them too...1..One who does not keep his promise has no DEEN...(BAYHIQI)..2...Not keeping Promise is a sign of HYPOCRITE...(BUKHARI)...

so isnt it better we look into ourselves rather blaming others for everything??isnt it the call of time to look in our hearts to chek have we EMAAN there??is our DEEN present in our Beliefs???

let me list our qualities we posses these days ,,including myself...BACKBITING,,BREAKING PROMISE,,SKEPTICISM..(budgumani),,TATTLING(Chughal Khori),,,DUPLICITY,,FALSE OATH,,GREED ,,STEALING,,USURPING(Wrong Measurements),,CHEATING,,EMBEZZLEMENT,,OVERSTATEMENT,,JEALOUSY,,PRIDE,,BOASTFULNESS,,MALICIOUNESS,,,,,,,ARE WE MUSLIMS????? we are hardly concerned about our deeds and we are hoping for the support from ALLAH سبحانه وتعالى....

now compare with west in it with ourselevs,,,,

yes we have our fauIts and they are not minor fauIts but huge ones (You reep what you sow Iike the saying goes) but that is not categoricaIIy the reason why whats happening to us musIims nowadays as those who seek to destroy the very heart and souI of our beautifuI faith do have such eviI hearts/intentions (as MoIana SaIeem Dhorat mentioned in his bayaan in Stamford HiII in Ramdhan) we cant say 100% its aII our fauIt and we cant say 100% it aII theirs fauIt - its a mixture.

Asslam-0-alikum Warehmat Allah wbrakatauho

sis you and all muslim brothers and sisters are always in prayers kindly remember your brother too in your prayers,,,

respected daywalker i agree with u but can u kindly tell me ,,wht is the actual percentage of muslims on the earth who pray SALATH??wht is the actual percentage of pilgrims on whom pilgrimage is obligatory ??as i am living in PAkistan so here in a survey only 5% population is worshippers in Mosques(NAMAZI) who use to pray salath in masajids,,,,16 carore is the population of Pakistan and only 5 % and from those 5 % there is great percentage of those who dont even know the meanings of wht they use to read in salath,,,,
wht i mean to say is before looking at others we should rebuild foundations of our home, society,,,,few years before the lady who was not in burqa (HIJAB)(VIEL) was considered to be not good and now the lady who is in Burqa (VIEL) considered to be not good!!!!!isnt it the point of shame for us specially i am talking about the Pakistani muslim society ,,,,

i agree with you. but i think 5% is too much its more Iike 2/3%. Good amaaIs go up from the ummah to aIIah then good fesIa's wiII come down from him upon the ummah inshaIIah. But there wiII aIways be batiI who seek to destroy haq whatever the percentage is. In the time of RasuIIah SAW 313 were the best (after the prophets AH) this worId wiII ever see but even they had peopIe seeking to destroy them. I respect your view as weII as those of others so dont reaIIy want to get into a repIy for repIy thread on this so this wiII be my Iast post.

Everyone has said very good things, Hazrat Shaykh Zakarya ra wrote a kitaab known as 'Al-'itidaal' which although related to the liberation of India from the Brittish colonialists, is very appropriate today. A lot of our brothers prefer to be completely 'non political' and even go as far as writing off many Muslim organisations such as the very noble efforts of Freinds of Al Aqsa. Many feel that protest marches and boycotting are a waste of time, I even found myself repeating those words that 'most of what we buy is owned by the yahud' like so many brothers say when they are reminded that Coke etc has a direct link with the oppresive regime of Israel. I know that our ulamaa have reminded us time and time again to particapate in these activities, I herad my Imaam of my masjid saying to the whole congregation. I dont want to go on and on. Listen to Shaykh Ryadh ul Haq's talk 'Our responsibilities as muslims' which is free to download on the AKA website. I also
