Muslim Youth Forum

Assalamualaikum,

wanted to bring to your attention something which i tried to work on but didnt work. I came across Muslim Youth forum and had a look at it. Went in to various categories and read some posts and it was not good.

So without thinking long and hard about it i decided to post some artciles about tv, relationships, smoking etc. This is when some members attacked us on the forum because they thought we were telling them what to do.

Ok i admit i made a mistake. Maybe i shouldnt have joined the forum, but i was actually going to leave it until one member told me that if i stay i could make a difference. I think i went on about it in the wrong way. Should have maybe slowly introduced myself rather than put up articles that this is haram and that is not permissable etc.

Anyway just wanted to bring this to your attention that even though we may get comfortable on our own forums, thinking that maybe everything is cool, well truth is so many youth are out there and dont have a clue.

I learnt my lesson and will try in the future to approach a situation like this from another angle.

sorry, just pointed that out in the most humble way possible, in shaa Allah - I hate to see an excellent message lay itself open to ridicule for a tiny error such as that.

and who says leave it, they mite end up making me like them!?

Its easy i guess to jus say 'Leave them be', but its our duty to try and change something IF we can.

At the end of the day, these are our brothers and sisters, and its true when they say sometimes, that the most people in need of Dawah, are the Muslims themselves.

So maybe try and approach on another level? Nabi kept trying and trying. We can only do our best.
