but pIease be very carefuI as over the past 3/4 years various magazines and periodicaIs etc have fIooded the musIim market - aIot are very good and beneficiaI and may aIIah except the efforts of those borthers and sisters behind these who have taken part in any way but at the same time aIot of stuff is circuIating which is kinda funded directIy or indirectIy by those who wish to destroy the very tennants of our faith. so pIease be wary and dont take everything at face vaIue.

Please maintain respect for each other and Ulamaa (if topic is about a scholar) by avoiding accusations and slanderous comments. Also remember that in order for criticism to be constructive, it must be channeled in the right direction. If there is any doubt in a matter, it is better to ask, clarify or to remain silent rather than to speak ill of another person.

i dont think something like the Green pages is a necessity we need or require as Muslims, and if the negative outweighs the positive then its not worth obtaining, especially when we are suppose to refrain from the doubtful in every aspect of our lives. I think we can live without it, i've done alright so far.

just my personal view.

PAPER DIRECTORIES ARE USUALLY OUT OF DATE (INFO OF BUSINESS CHANGE ETC..)BEFORE THEY GO TO PRINT. IN THIS DAY AND AGE USING AN ONLINE DIECTORTY WOULD BE WISER.

Salaams,

It was blatently a mistake, its absurd to suggest they did it on purpose and that they are qadiani's. i recieved the following email;

Official response from Muslim Green Pages

Assalamu'alaikum Warahmatulahi'ta'ala Wabarakatahu,

The successful launch of the 2007 Edition of the Muslim Green Pages saw the distribution of thousands of directories throughout the UK. The directory was greatly welcomed and appreciated by the Muslim community. As with any product or service, improvements can always be made and the Muslim Green Pages has welcomed the positive feedback that we have received from individuals from the community. As we want to ensure that the content contained in the Muslim Green Pages is in conformity with the values held by the Muslim community, to whom we serve, we would like to communicate that the Muslim Green Pages has omitted the mentioned businesses & organisations from our database and web search facility to ensure that they do not appear in any future edition of the publication: and would like to communicate that these such listings were as a result of human error and not intentionally published. In addition the Muslim Green Pages has and is undertaking the following actions;

* Such Listings permanently removed from our database in order for them not to re-appear in any future editions

* Such Listings permanently removed from web search facility

* The issuing of erratum stickers highlighting the errors within the directory

* Issuing an erratum page on the mgp647.com web directory site highlighting the errors within the directory

We welcome the kind feedback and advice we have received from the Muslim community and we commend members of the community who have contacted us directly to understand the company's official stance on this matter.

We would ask the Muslim community to continue to provide constructive feedback in order for us to continue to improve our services to the Muslim community.

Jazzakallah Khairun

Re: Assalamu'alaikum,
Dear brothers & sisters,

Let us not slander one another or accuse one another of things that we can not justify. To say Muslim Pages is supporting qadianis is not right i have spoke to them directly which most people should do instead of spreading hate emails around. they say they have made geniuine human errors in including the 3 qadiani mosques out of over 2,000 mosques they have. if they were promoting qadianis surely they would be more them 3?.

I totaly agree with you brother, i did the same they are very nice Muslims and they were errors which as human beings can be made.

Whats more they said they have issued letters and stickers to each masjid to make people aware, my local masjid certainly has copies which are being distributed with error stickers to the back of them, they also have a letter from green pages on the notice board making people aware.

We shall see inshallah such mistakes will not happen in their next issue.

haven't seen any copies of the green pages yet so i shoudnt really make any judgements, i have only gone on the info given, i was under the impression the green pages was compiled by a non-muslim organisation. Although the mistakes are few they are still serious mistakes which Alhamdulillah have been noted and rectified, im sure the next issue will be very well scrutinised before printing. All new ventures have to go through the turmoil of trial and error before they can be perfected. May Allah سبحانه وتعالى help us to do whats best for the muslim community and who knows the non-muslim community may even benefit.
