I have twice now submitted a question regarding whether certain statements constitute a breach of iman yet neither has been answered, the first question being over 6 months old and the other at least 3 months old.

I understand that the ulema are busy but if they cannot provide an adequate turnaround then the service should not be provided in the first place. In addition, one would have thought that questions would be prioritised by matter of importance and not allow the proliferation of fun-size Mars bars at the expense of fundamental questions regarding Iman.

Seeing as there are a disproportionate number of questions on ingredients, can't we have a different section (entitled 'Ingredients - halaal or haraam ?) that is updated on a weekly basis ?

Salam,

I don't think they're prioritised, it's just that the Scholar who answers them specialises in that fueld so they are easy to asnwer so out of the way whilst the others need alot of thought and research before they are answered.

Assalamu Alaikum,

I understnd your reasoning but im sure the Ulemaa are trying their best i also submitted a question sum time ago as well. If it is urgent then there are also other sites you can go to hence giving these Ulemaa a bit more time as im sure they recieve quite a few qs so it cn be difficult and Alla Knows Best.

askimam.com is also a gd Q&A site

I agree - MashAllah muftisays is great for brothers and sisters sharing Islamic knowledge with posts etc. but for q&a it really doesn't fulfil the service - i am sure the Ulema are very busy and enagaed in the Servcie of Allah and His Deen, in which case q&a should not be depicted as the main service of MS.

Salam,

I think it should stay. What would happen to Mufti Says if it didn't have a q&a section? The title is MUFTI SAYS not MEMBERS SAY so that's why.

Also, haven't you seen how hard Mufti Abdullah Patel works mashallah? He answers the questions that he can answer as soon as possible and so do the other Ulama. They are people, but they have more work than us as they spend their time in spreading the deen.

We should all be patient. At the end of the day, we have our local imams but instead of asking why it takes so long to answer, why don't we ask the admin to add a few muftis to the ulama group? There must be a few other muftis out there.

Yes something needs to be sorted out inshallah! may Allah reward all the Ulamah especially those who do answer the questions..i asked a fiq question in the first week i registered and even gave my email address with it..well its obviously not going to be answered as its been so long and i didn't ask anymore...brother Yasin where ever you are?maybe in Hajj without telling us?this brother has an idea which sounds good ..and if there is anything you need help with let me know inshallah..i do have a darululoom near me with four or five mufti's one of whom is our imam also...and many other known ulamah.

i posted 2 in Octoer 2005. still waiting - but from the nature of my Q's i did expect them to take a while but 15 months?? anyway besides that i have really benefitted a heck of a lot from this sites ulama and users.

the q&a section should/must stay. i think its a problem with the minority of q's not the majority.

anyway if q's are urgent approch local ulama.

There is the sister site of GMWA where questions regarding halal/haram are answered. Why is there a need to populate this site with such questions?
