Wassalam

if a woman broadcast her voice daily on radio for a general topic where men are most likely to listen to it (daily), then i'd say a big no.
we have to weigh the pros and cons.
this is my point of view and i speak solely for myself: it is christmas day a sensitive and auspicous day for the majority in this country, why hold a speech on that day? the queens speech, although most people arent interested, it has become a custom amongst those that celebration christmas to listen to it, and it is drawing the attention away from this custom, where the whole countries attention will be lying. why?
i wear the niqab, do i want someone speaking up on my behalf on national television, (by the way the t.v. is my pet hate) i pray 5 times a day, and i recite the quran, do i need someone to go on the telly to speak on my behalf, to justify where, why and what i do?
it is not in the media's interest to propagate Islam, so why so much support?
since when were the lectures of the pious ulema in need of an upgrade from a female lecturer, when the piety of our pious have never lead centre stage do we need a female to do such a thing. this will be the beginning of something more to come
there is no doubt the sister is very intelligent and will most likely speak very well, but whose interested, the muslims? the media? those waiting to watch not because they are interested in islam watching out of curiosity and fault finding? if there are any genuine people searching the truth Allah سبحانه وتعالى guides them regardless.
Where islam is concerned we are always going to be tested with one issue or another, as in the past, issues have come and gone, as far as im concerned this issue was beginning to fade and who decides to make it an issue again? and even then, on christmas day, when no-one wants to see all the anti-islamic pictures they have been viewing all year round
[quote] When muslim women issues come out in the media like they recently have it is muslim women who need to respond (as well as the whole communuty)
i dont think he meant on national television, maybe with our neighbours, people we work with, and are in contact with, etc. it brings to mind how islam spread in the early days, it spread solely by a persons akhlaq, people use to revert to islam just by looking at the sahaba r.a. and their akhlaq, piety, honesty, etc. most of the people against the niqab are non-practising muslims, whats that telling us.
think its time we worried about our state of affairs, our piety and our conduct because only this will spread Islam and show the truth of our Creators deen, and steer away from such activities.

a shaykh cannot be compared to me you or any other layperson, i would never knock such pious people. Alhamdulillah
[quote] We aII have short comings aIso sister but its kinda a Iow shot putting her down Iike that.
without a doubt i say whatever she will say will be nothing but according to shariah, she has a good following and is respected by her teachers and many students, speaking up when your religion is under attack is fine for clarification, but to do a speech when there is no need it dont make sense???
Wallahuallam

This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
