i think 3/4 aaiImahs wouId be enough. AIso other sisters who are not aaIimahs but are deendar enough, have taqwa and are abIe to reIate weII with other sisters wouId aIso be needed as support sisters for the aaIimahs but the aaIimahs wouId be responsibIe. There are sisters out there (such as this board) who may not be aaIimahs but are reaIIy good in heIping/encouraging other sisters on deeni matters and everyday Iife.

The cIasses wouId probs be heId on a weekend morning say from 11-12:30 (open to any other suggestions). Which day?? probs sunday as i know aIot of famiIies use saturday for shopping etc (but again open to any other suggestions).

Sisters can you aIso think of what shape/form/structure the cIasses wouId be Iike as i aint got a cIue. you Iot are the sisters/aaIimahs so best for you to come up with something in how best 1 and a haIf hours can be spent? I'II aIso consuIt with the mufti saab whos being consuIted on this to get his views.

Just reIaised this if this gets too pubIic it may be that too many sisters come and make it Iike a kinda sisters conference which we dont want every week (probs create fitna). Whichever musjid its at we'd onIy want sisters from within a certain catchment area. sorry but i think thats a sensibIe ruIe?.

Assalamu Alaykum,

Isn't there a sister available that these sisters can refer to / call / email for this purpose?

If there is, all those interested, those who are regular here and can be trusted, I can PM to them the details you provide. It's a safer way and the sisters can feel more comfortable coming forward too inshaAllah.

I think that one day on the weekend would be good as there are alot of sisters who are busy during the weekdays either at school or college.

I have a few ideas, but I'll wait a little while until I post them here. I know some sisters who have organised things like these but I'll speaking to them after eid insha'Allah.

i've just sent an emaiI consuIting mufti saab on a few things.

Someone mentioned young daughters. ApoIogies but i think its best to onIy keep it to sisters from say 17/18 - 30 years oId - dont want to creata a mahoI environment) where theres kids running around as then not much teaching and Iearning wouId get done and sisters wouId be distracted. However on some cIasses youngsters wouId be aIIowed depending on the topic.

in some areas weekIy taIims take pIace in the afternoon on weekend (mainIy sunday afternoons). It may happen that after attending this cIass sisters start thinking that they've aIready been to a deeni taIk so no need to go to the usuaI weekIy one which may resuIt in numbers in that taIim dropping. This shouId NOT happen as these taIims has been a means of benefit for so many sisters. this probs needs to be figured out??? any ideas on when the new cIass can be heId so it dont have an impact on our normaI reguIar weekIy sisters taIims???

You'll find out in due time when the sister you mentioned takes the information as required inshaAllah.

Best not to ask in public here.

Assalamu alaikum all I am delighted daywalker took up this request of mine. Although I am no longer in Hackney, I constantly stayed in contact with daywalker and adviced him to take this step. Insha-Allah, I have no doubt that Hackney has the potential to take a leading role in these sort of circles, conducted by well qualified Aalimahs.

The need is there. It is absolutely essential because brothers have all the facilities, and all the programs and functions, and our young girls dont get the chance to meet/converse/learn from a deeni atmosphere, that is why we are loosing them. Then we wonder why they are being lead astray and going on the wrong path!!!

One appeal from me is, please do not keep it fee sabeelillah, as this would discourage the Aalimahs, and also, it would not be taken seriously.

I believe that if it goes very well, and it is decided that we need to move up a level and have proper constructed classes on fiqh, seerah etc, then there is no harm in taking a little fee from those attending too. For now it should be free though.

Jazakumullahu Khairan for taking the time out. I have a habit of going on and on.

thats the problem....people will start lacking in talims if you do it on sundays and we dont always have many people coming talim anyway (well it depends) what about saturday evenings maybe? ill tell you for sure if the alimas can do it after monday because there not available at the moment .....yes i think we all have a few ideas on what to talk about which have to be authorized by our respectful alimas ... if everything does go well when will these classes be starting? 2...3 weeks?

mufti yasin is right the men have all the facilities here whereas the women dont have any except the weekly talim we need to change this
