Sisters heIp wanted!!!

Theres are NO men around in the morning at 11ish - if that was the case mufti saeed wouId have not aIIowed it either and mufti yasin wouId have advised against it aIso. I think we need to take this thinking out that women cant go near musjids mentaIty - no offence sister.

Insha'Allah let us not get too carried away. If the muftis have allowed it then let us not argue over it. Look at this as a good thing and alot of good will come from it insha'Allah.

I can't wait for the whole thing to be up and running.

but i will respect the age restriction. besides, these classes which im sure will have a question and answer session at the end (maybe), could get too much for her. (as im sure there might be many sorts of questions).

fiqh & seerah? excellent. they are important to learn. listening to the seerah of our beloved nabi s.a.w, will just inspire us to love him more, keep him as a role model and it will make ppl understand the torments and other situations he had to take on just to spread the word.

Just saw this topic now, alhumdulillah it's really good to see brothers and sisters trying to organise classes such as these, especially for sisters!

There's similar classes that take place in Forest Gate Masjid during the weekends, been going on for a year now & proved to be very successful.

Firstly, for timing I would say definitely mornings, maybe 10am-12pm. that way if people want to go shopping etc after they still can. Start off with either sat/sun, if there's a good turn out of sisters, and if everyone's willing then personally I think it would be best to have it both sat and sun. (You have to make some sacrifices for the Deen right?)

Secondly, you will HAVE to allow sisters to bring their children along. (There probably wont be anyone else to look after them!)

Thirdly, as Mufti Yaseen already mentioned, you should definitely charge a small amount and also pay the Alimahs teaching. This is just simply because if people know they are paying for the classes they will be more dedicated.

Fourthly, about brothers being around the masjid, I don't think it will be too much of a problem. Forest Gate Masjid doesn't have separate facilities for sisters, however because it was from 10-12 there were never any bros around as it finished well before Zohr Salah. Moreover, once it's running for a few months brothers will be aware and wont come anyway.

Fifthly, just a few suggestions for subjects to teach.... definitely Tajweed, maybe basic Arabic (e.g. Duroosul Lugatul Arabiyah), basic fiqh (e.g. bahishti Zewar), maybe a bit of hadith/tafseer.

Lastly, this is just a suggestion you can look into in the future after the classes have been running for good 6 months/more...

Try to organise monthly/bi-monthly/tri-monthly sisters programmes (talks, nesheeds, Qura'an recitaion etc) performed by the students themselves where outsiders are welcome. Would be a good way to promote the classes as well...I know....get the classes running 1st innit...just an idea as there aren't many programmes for sisters.
