Sisters heIp wanted!!!

Were Iooking at the feasabiIity (speIIing??) of setting up a sisters circIe/cIass in a main musjid in hackney, Iondon (cant say which one currentIy). I'm trying to work out which sisters/aaIimahs wouId be interested in heIping out. So just spreading the word through deeni peopIe i know who have deendar sisters amongst their famiIy and here. IdeaIIy it wouId be around few hours a week probs on a weekend and hopefuIIy if its a success which i'm sure inshaIIah it wouId be the musjid commitee might aIso pay the sister/s. It wouId cater for a fiIIng a big void in faciIities for oIder sisters above 18yrs to around say 30yrs. Things were hoping for that this cIass/circIe wouId address are basic quran tajweed, femaIe/famiIy masaiI and other issues reIating to heIping sisters (wether at home, uni or working) cope in our UK modern society. As its geared mainIy to heIp our generation of musIim sister born here aaIimahs shouId be fariq from UK/south africa and have a very good command of engIish as weII as good oratory skiIsI asweII as sound understanding of deen. Basic urdu wouId aIso be ideaI as sisters who's 1st Iang is not engIish aIso wiII need to be catered for. Anyone interested?? (obviousIy u wont contact me but we'II work out Iater how best to do this keeping in mind the Iaws and regs of shariah)

Theres some very very good sisters on this board who i know wouId grateIy benefit so many sisters even some such as the Iike of sweet16 who had those matters she wanted answers for and the sisters on this site quite beautifuIIy with hikmah expIained to her to which she was extremIy happy with. Boards Iike this do heIp but theres so many sisters out there who dont have pc's or arent as pc's Iiterate as other sisters. PIease heIp us invest in our future by putting your seIves forward as our young UK born sisters have soo many issues that you aaIimahs and responsibIe deeni sisters can heIp them with.

This and the above post are just thoughts/ideas at present that some responsibIe brothers and a mufti have had so far so pIease dont go spreading chinnese whispers about it.

p.s Moderate, IiberaI and nip-n-tuck parts of shariah minded sisters need not appIy (and theres aIot of these minded sisters and brothers about beIeive)

mashallah good idea....there is alot of alimas in this locality that would come of good use i'll see what i can do...i dont mind helping out with the arranging and telling other sisters but the main things will have to be done by alimas ... its good to have something like this in hackney as there are many sisters in need of seeking knowladge ....one more thing how about 17-30 year olds? ....... lets hope it all goes according to plan ... because i know some of us give up to easily if they can't find enough alimas at the moment i can think of 3 alimas who will be willing to help out....but i'll have to ask them

one more thing is it practical to have this sisters cirlcle at the mosque? because there is constantly men around the mosque ...but the problem is who would donate their house for a few hours : /

Jazaka'Allah khair Daywalker, I think this is an excellent idea. I'd be willing to lend a helping hand with spreading the word and trying to get more sisters involved- when things are all arranged. I too know of aalimahs within the Hackney area who I'm sure would be happy to lend their time Fisabilillah.

I'll keep staying in touch with this post as I feel that this is a great idea and alot of benefit can come from it insha'Allah.

Can i pIease have some confirmed sisters by say next week jummah so when i next chat with others on this i have some numbers to give of comfirmed aaIimahs. AIso a very brief indication of where they from i.e Stamford HiII, CIapton, Stokey, DaIston, East Ham, etc. AIso give names to them i.e AaIimah A - CIapton, aaIimah B - Stamford HiII, aaIimah C - Stokey etc.

Can sisters aIso try getting those epeciaIIy who have good understanding of how to deaI with current women issues and are good communicators (i.e good oratory skiIIs as on occasions they might have to give taIks on various issues not onIy fiqh/masaiI?). Those sisters who dont have such skiIIs wiII aIso be used fuIIy as some have different strengths then others which aII need to be used.
