I can add to that question... If you're trying to make me feel guilty, you have a gift. Just messing. I really am sorry about the mistake thought. If there was any way I could get the posts from the last 3 days I would. Again, I do apologize

If the result of the repeated banging was the breaking of the skin and thus the flow of blood, this would most certainly nullify one's wudhu. However, only at the point of swallowing the blood, would the fast actually break ! (Allahu Alam - if you really want an answer to that, you'll have to submit a Q)

lol - is it just me, or has this forum become particularly gruesome of recent ?

OK, MS members, we must pull together and support our distressed fellowman in his time of need.

Rifle furiously through the archives of your brain to recollect the points made in relation to the need for young blood [sic] in our masjid committees.

A few points which come to mind are:

1) The import of imams from back home, who although may possess much knowledge, do not have the requisite skills to impart this to the community

2) The reluctance of the masjid committees to spend well on their imams, thus attracting home-grown talent who can really benefit the ummah in a pro-active manner.

3) The deplorable lavish spending committees will indulge in when it comes to construction and decoration

come on ... help us out here

If masajids are gonna have Imams from the subcontinent, they should also have an english speaking imam. And the comitee should give proper wages.

I see the problem, with young members on the comitteee is that they only have youngsters that have the same methodology as the elders. In my local masjid these youngsters are like trainee commitee members and they are being conditioned in the same mold as the elders! Shocking as we have many non Urdu speaking muslims in the community, including myself , and yet thruout the whole month of ramadan we have not a single talk in english?

gud answer Shahly, but here's mine ...
if anyone repeatedly bangs his head against the wall, this surely has to be taken as evidence of madness/insanity. Therefore, fasting is not compulsory on such individuals, regardless of any flow of blood or not !

back on track ...
the onus is on the youngsters to change the attitudes of the elders. difficult, but not impossible. We have had partial success here in my locality and managed to get a 2nd imam who is more in touch with the youth !
Most Urdu-speaking imams simply concentrate on aspects of ibaadaat (worship) and it is the english-speaking imams who are more willing to discuss other issues. (I note that in islam, you can make every aspect of your life a form of Ibaadat). If the government think that having only english-speaking imams will curtail discussion of Jihad etc, they are very misguided. It is a fact that any 'hate-preachers' were all communicating in English ! Maybe the government should deliberately pursue urdu-speaking imams, if the govt's twisted interpretation of the situation is to be believed, as i have yet to come across such an imam who talks about politics/warfare etc !

i know this may sound rude to u all.
i feel its wrong to pay an imam (foreign) low wages & then expect him to sign on.
