Straw asks Muslims to remove veil

may Allah safeguard our faith.

RABBANA WA LA TUHAMMILNA MA LA TAQATA LANA BIH.
WA'FU ANNA, WAGHFIRLANA, WARHAMNA.
ANTA MAULANA FANSURNA ALAA-QAWMIL KAFIREEN.

'our Lord! lay not on us that burden which we have not the strenghth to bear.
and pardon us, absolve us, and have mercy on us, you alone are our friend and helper, help us to triumph over the unbelieving folk.' - ameen, summa ameen!!

Nikaab is our identity is does not hinder us from expressing ourselves and making a difference. The only difference is we do it in a way that is jaiz according to shariah. Inshallah if we stay as a strong unit and stick togethor nothing can happen and no1 can let us give up part of our identity!

May Allah keep us steadfast in our actions. Ameen

Why is it that these MP's and Popes etc can say things to muslim and we just have to nod our heads and accept it? Or retaliate in a violent manner?

This needs to be a wakeup call to us muslims, we need to stand up and speak out in an appropriate manner. Violence is not the answer but i'm sure there are other solutions.

One key starting point is the Muslims sticking togethor and letting nothing break them. Right?

At times of crisis we see Muslims sistrs remove their veil even hijab and brothers abandon wearing the amamah or even the jubba! Yea i know at times of hardships ther is permissability to remove such itmes according to some. But when the Prophet was stonned, Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه was dragged by his beard for proclaiming being a muslim did you see them give up their identity? Thse are our tru heros and we should follow in their footsteps.

Smile, be happy to be a Muslim and Allah will surely be happy with you! Correct me if im wrong!

At the beginning of time Islam people looked at it strange. The quraysh thought what the Prophet was spreading was ALIEN! Today when people look at things like the NIKAAB as strange and a so called barrier we should be happy they think it's strange as Insh'Allah if we have hope in Allah in his infinite mercy we will be the ones given gladtidings.

Let's be good Muslims and be optimistic about life. Let's not get annoyed over people of no knowledge commenting on key aspects of our religion. After all they are jahil and we should pray Allah gives them guidance to become Muslims.

Let this world be a prison for us and a heaven for the disbelivers as i'm sure the tables will be recersed in hereafter.

Only Allah accepts ours duas no matter how sinful we may be! Let us never lose hope in our creater!

I was just about to post this topic up looks like taqwa50 beat me to it masha'Allah.

Masha'Allah well said sisters; I believe the hijaab, nikaab, and abaya give muslim women their sense of identity. This is what we have been commanded by Allah subhana wa ta'ala to do and happily we have done it for His pleasure only. Therefore if politicians(or anyone for that matter) come along and tell muslim women to remove their nikaabs for the purpose of 'better positive relations', then we should see this as a test on our part.

Alhamdulilah people I have seen so far have been steadfast in what they believe in and integration between different communities does not require the removal of an identity. This is who we are and this is what we believe in, whether they like it or not we make a stand. I'm outraged at the thought of even considering to take the veil off.

Being able to integrate does not lie within face to face communication but a part of is held in communication on a mature level with people of different communities. There are many muslim woman veiled who are able to hold a v.well and structured conversation.

May Allah give us all the ability to hold on our deen and to stand tall.Ameen.

I think that the politicians do not talk for the community on a whole. i know so many nice none muslim women who approach me evn though i waer nikaab and THEY DO NOT SEEM TO FELL THERE IS ANY SORT OF BARRIER!
