Assalamoalaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakaatuh

Just wanted to recommend the book 'From my sister's lips' by Nai'ma Roberts.

It's an informative, compelling and moving read which illustrates the experiences and thoughts of the growing Muslim revert community (sisters). Many key issues relating to women in Islam are addressed in a clear, logical manner.

The book is available to buy from the Newham Bookshop on Barking Road or online from www.simplyislam.com or www.darussalam.com .

Fee amaanillah

Wassalaam

will leave sisters to discuss this issue but just wanted to take one point about more women going to hell.

Is it not because many more women will have been born in this world up until this world ends?

salaam

I can empathise with the feelings of sweet 16 who wrote the original post.
Its a feeling most of us females go through. ANd the questioning leaves u feeling a bit bad, but u just want to KNOW!

Alhamdulilah, i can accept all that Islam has written for us, but that does not mean that ALL the questions have stopped going on in my head. Although i believ in everythng Allah has ordained for us, i still find myself not content with ONE thing, and wonder if anyone can enlighten me...

Regarding the 'hoors' of jannah..
If men will get them, what will women get?. And when they say that the wife will be the leader of them all, i,m still left thnkn 'hmmmmm...'
Surah Rahmaan is such a beautiful surah, and describes the maidens of heaven, but this is for the women, so i think, 'what is there for the women?'

I pray that Allah forgives me for thinking this way

jazakallah khayr

I heard a bayhan about women in Jannah a few weeks ago. In my own words what I heard as it was in Urdu; forgive me if I go in circles.

Those women who are granted Jannah, they will be more beautiful then all the hoor's put together. They will be the Queen of all their husbands' hoor.
In this world when a women see a woman less beautiful then them or someone is jealous of their beauty she feel proud and superior, in this way the hoor will be jealous of the women of Jannah's beauty and the attention she will get from her husband.

It is also mentioned in the Hadith that the women of this worldly life have superiority over hoor in due to the acts of worship and obedience that they performed in this world

The women of Jannah will be looked down with mercy and Allah will be please with them because they are superior as they went through hardship and trails and tribulation in this world but a hoor has never experience anything like that. What more does any women want then her lord being please with her?

Well the bayhan I heard made me feel proud to be a Muslim woman.

Umme Salamah R.A narrates that she said to Rasulullah SAW "O Rasulullah, are the women of this world superior or the hoors?" He replied, "The women of this world will have superiority over the hoors just as the outer lining of a garment has superiority over the inner lining."

My conclusion, we are questioning Jannah why this? Why not that? But in the hereafter the one who is granted Jannah won't question or complain about anything even the one in the lowest rank in Jannah will be pleased with what he/she has been granted.

the way i see it, if i am in jannah - that will suffice.
in jannah, there will be no such thing as jealousy, hatred etc.

Allah سبحانه وتعالى has given women such a status that it cannot be compared by any other religion nor by any hoors.
in jannah, our beauty will be such that we will be happy with ourselves. in jannah, such will be made available to us that what the menfolk receive will not bother us.
it bothers women now as we know that our spouse is our belonging.

in jannah we wont care as much.

An excellent thread!

Many other topics on womens rights should also be added to the thread. So much is missing from here :(
