Wa'alaykum as-salaam wa Rahmatu Llahi wa Barakatuhu

AlhumduliLlah, they are reliable. I have used their question & answer service before and have taken a number of classes with them. Masha'Allah, the amount of knowledge you gain can't be put into words.

i know this is an oId thread but just saw it now. I know Mufti Adam (DaruI Ifftaa Ieicester), MoIIy Yusuf Mangera (ex-student DaruI Ioom Bury from CIapton - think he wrote FiqhuI Imam) are amonsgt the schoIars on it. However just going through random answers it seems there are differences of opinion on aIot of things between the UIama on sunnipath.com. Makes it confusing (to me anyway) when even uIama on the same board/website difer on certain issues.

Interesting.

Are they the light issues that they differ on? Or it maybe rare cases?

apoIogies. just spent Iast hour or so throughIy going through sunnipath and its Iike you said quite minor rare casses onIy which is naturaI.

However this one confused me a bit :-
qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?HD=3&ID=7123&CATE...

You couId argue that to some the beard gets in the way of dawah, and prehaps aIso to some wearing of scarfs even aIso jiIbabs and mens jubbah as they aII protray (nowadays anyway) some kind of extermist ideoIogy so do we get rid of these aIso if peopIe in the west see them as threatening or to some a barrier to dawah. ??

I see what you mean. I'm sure the answer is given in the correct aspects but wouldn't that be a green light for other acts in the name of Da'wah?

The following question is similar to the above but about Music. It's the answer that i'm looking at, would it differ to the answer given on sunnipath? Meaning the angle of it

Salaam,

Some of the Questions are answered by Shaykh Nuh Ha Mim Kellar. I read the following information on the Ask Imam site which may explain the slight differences:

"5. To the best of our knowledge, both Shaikh Nuh and Shaikh Hamza in Aqaid follow the Ashari School, which are part of the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'ah. We do differ with them in beliefs slightly, as some of the beliefs propounded by the students of Shaikh Nuh are taken by our Ulama to be those of the Ahle Bidah. Nevertheless, both these scholars are part of the mainstream Sunnis in their beliefs to the best of our knowledge."

and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

Mufti Ebrahim Desai

Wasalam.

assalaamu alaikum.

Sunnipath is excellent. Yes there are differences of opinion betwwen ulama and this is something we should respect. The issue of niqab is an example of this difference of opinion. If you feel that the niqab must be worn, this is one thing, but you should not condemn those who diifer with you.

qa.sunnipath.com/issue_view.asp?HD=1&ID=2778&CATE=7

Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari states in the above answer

"Some contemporary scholars have a more lenient approach to this issue, especially in the West. However, my understanding is (according to what I have learnt from my teachers) that a woman is required to cover her face even in the west except in dire situations."

As you can see the respected Mufti acknowledged that some ulama differ on this and then went on to give his opinion on the issue.

Alhamdulillah !

Just as there were 'Umars' and 'Abu Bakrs' in the time of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), so are there today.

We do not doubt the sincerity of the ulama; may Allah guide us all onto the straight path and protect us from the fire of jahannum.
Aameen.

Fee amaanillah,

Alhamdulillah.

Yes we do accept the differences Alhamdulillah. I think brother daywalker and my main concerns were the confusions of those who read it. The same web site having differences we can understand, but relating to one another and also justifying one another would help those with less knowledge so they don't get confused.

Remember, we totally respect the Ulamaa on that web site, we respect their views and their answers. However, the methods can be pointed at a little if it confuses anyone. So please don't take what was said in the earlier posts negative.

Also, Jazakallah 'layman' for that post. It's helpful.

Wassalam
