Assalāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh, respected brothers.
As we approach the final nights of this blessed month of Ramaḍān, I wanted to remind myself and all of you to make duʿā’ that Allāh ﷻ forgives us for our sins, accepts our deeds, and grants dignity and relief to the Ummah in these difficult times.
There are two virtuous deeds from the treasures of the Sunnah that we should try to act upon before Ramaḍān ends, and continue afterwards, inshā’Allāh.
1. Four Rakʿāt after Ṣalāt al-ʿIshā
It is narrated that whoever performs four rakʿāt after ʿIshā with one taslīm receives a reward comparable to Laylat al-Qadr.
One of the chains reported is:
Abū Ḥanīfah → Ḥammād ibn Abī Sulaymān → Ibrāhīm al-Nakhaʿī → ʿAlqamah → ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd (raḍiyAllāhu ʿanhu) → the Prophet ﷺ
All of the narrators in this chain are well-known and reliable (thiqqah) among the scholars of ḥadīth. The narration is also supported through multiple companion reports, including narrations attributed to Ibn Masʿūd, ʿĀ’ishah, and others, which strengthens the practice in the books of virtues (faḍā’il).
The narration is recorded in works such as:
Musannaf Ibn Abī Shaybah
Musannaf ʿAbd al-Razzāq
Kanz al-ʿUmmāl
Scholars mention this as a virtuous act connected to night worship after ʿIshā.
2. Walking to Jumuʿah
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ also encouraged going early and walking to Jumuʿah.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever performs ghusl on Friday, goes early, walks and does not ride, sits close to the imām and listens attentively, for every step he takes he will have the reward of a year of fasting and standing in prayer.”
This narration is authentic (ṣaḥīḥ) and recorded in:
Sunan al-Tirmidhī (496)
Sunan Abī Dāwūd (345)
Sunan Ibn Mājah (1087)
also transmitted through Musnad Aḥmad
SubḥānAllāh — every step to Jumuʿah carries the reward of a full year of fasting and qiyām.
May Allāh grant us the tawfīq to act upon these virtues and accept from us in these blessed days.
Jazākum Allāhu khayran.
And we invite all brothers to attend Jumuʿah in the masjid, come early, walk if possible, and benefit from the immense rewards Allāh has placed in this blessed day.
First Naration with a different chain with dfferent ending in Kitab al Athar of Imam Abu Hanifah:

111. Muḥammad said, “Abū Ḥanīfah informed us saying, ‘Al-Ḥārith ibn Ziyād or Muḥārib ibn Dithār’ (Muḥammad being in doubt as to which) ‘narrated to us that ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar said, “Whoever prays four rakʿahs after ʿIshā’ before leaving the mosque, then they are equal to four rakʿahs on Laylat al-Qadr.”’”
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
