Excerpt from Ml Ibrahim Dewla’s speeches and notes.
If someone doesn’t do or support this effort.
“He’s useless.”
Is this so? That’s not the case. So why doesn’t he do it?
(1) We failed to explain this effort to him. So, explain your message to him. Build a connection with him. Yes, this is the reason we have not conveyed our message to others in the proper manner. Because we haven’t conveyed our message in its true spirit — that’s why he’s not doing it.
Otherwise, no Muslim would oppose it. Everyone agrees that religion should be present; we are to live and die by faith. So why doesn’t he do it? The reason is that we failed to explain it to him.
(2) Or perhaps he has found some flaw within us. What did he see? He saw something in us that caused him to hate the effort.
This happens.
It means that in our own personal lives, there is some shortcoming, and because of that, he is not ready to accept what we say, saying, “These people are like this.”
For example, people see Muslims as Islam. But in reality, Muslims are one thing and Islam is another. Some Muslims are practicing and others are not, while Islam stands as a true religion.
But people have confused the two; they see the actions of Muslims and begin to judge Islam wrongly. Whereas the fault lies with the Muslims not with Islam.
Similarly, the effort of Tabligh is not wrong, but sometimes the person involved in the effort has his faults. This is why certain people are unable to accept our message.
So we need to reflect inward and acknowledge our own shortcomings.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
