It was just an imagination back then. Looks like it will become a real threat!

I find it hard to believe that we need to drink so much water a day!

Why?

Because it's healthier to drink in sips and drinking in sips would take a long time to consume 8 glasses of water a day. Drinking too much water is also not healthy for the body and has negative effects.

It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) used to breathe three times when drinking, and he would say: “It is more thirst-quenching, healthier and more wholesome.” Narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh (2028).

Just weigh these "scientific" claims against the actions of the Sahaba رضي الله عنهم and you will know if they are viable or nonsense. 8 glasses of water, 8 hours of sleep at night, do you think the Sahaba رضي الله عنهم had the luxury of this? If they did 8 hours of sleep it would be very difficult to be consistent with Tahajjud prayers.

And if the Sahaba رضي الله عنهم survived without this advice, so can all other humans.
