📌 *Jumadā al-ʾŪlā 1445 Moonsighting, Tuesday the 14th of November 2023*

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُه

Wifaqul Ulama urges Muslims in Britain to attempt to sight the moon for Jumadā al-ʾŪlā 1445 on the evening of Tuesday the 14th of November 2023. This will be the 29th Rabīʿ ʾath-Thānī 1445.

We follow the same Moonsighting process for all 12 months and all proceedings will be live on Twitter.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُه

Declaration for the month of Jumadā al-ʾŪlā 1445

Local Sighting Report: Negative
Foreign Sighting Report: Positive

Therefore, the Islamic month of Rabīʿ ath-Thānī will have 29 days and the first day of Jumadā al-ʾŪlā 1445 will be tomorrow Wednesday 15th November 2023.

Why not do full 30 days when it wasn't sighted in the uk?

If British Muslims were to complete 30 days when the Moon is not sighted on the 29th day, there would be many consecutive months of 30 days and we would find ourselves out of step with the rest of the Muslims.

Then why not adopt global moonlighting. You are either local or not.

I understand global sighting is, if on a calendar day, if the moon is sighted in Canada, it is applicable to entire world, including Newzealand and Fiji Island.

my view is correct. If moon is sighted on Monday evening in Canada, then Tuesday is 1st of month in entire world including Zealand and Fiji island.
note: when it is monday evening in Canada, it could be middle of tuesday in newzealand. Shariah must be applicable to entire world.

CCD imaging is not the same as sighting.

Many countries follow Saudi Arabia and Saudi use ccd images. So they cannot be accepted as verified sightings.

Global sighting isn't practical in this day and age.

Global sighting didn't mean global sighting as we know it today.
