“Liberalism Destroys Every Religion - Moving it Through Three Phases

(INITIAL) FIRST PHASE
The religion is based on genuine belief in traditional doctrines and norms (e.g., the believing traditional Muslim).

SECOND PHASE
Owing to liberal influence, the religion's traditional doctrines and norms are gradually reinterpreted to make them consistent with liberal ideals of science and human rights (e.g., the liberal/reformist Muslim).

THIRD PHASE
Owing to ongoing liberal influence, the religion undergoes ever more radical reinterpretations, until it loses all its traditional doctrines and norms and is stripped of all coherence and credibility. Since no one can believe in the religion any more, it comes to serve as nothing more than symbols marking a form of ethnic identity (e.g., the cultural/ethnic/secular Muslim).”

Small comprises the idea being we live in the modern world, and we need to adopt modern modes of thinking. And living.

Secondly the love for this dhuniya and its pleasures.

Finally women losing their haya and men losing their ghayrah.

And the people in power using the media to promote all of the above. Consistently over the years and decades until population gets brainwashed into accepting it.

To show how its done I remember hearing the following. Story in an audio lecture in the 1990’s I am writing from memory so all the details might not be precise.

But here is the gist of the story.

A White convert from America in the 1970’s after accepting Islam. Developed a desire to visit a Muslim country. To experience the environment and lifestyle of Muslims he had read in the books of history.

After travelling to several countries he got disheartened. The Muslims in places he visited were not living lives of piety that he had read of from the earlier generations.

Finally he ended up in a country in West Africa. He mentioned the reasons for his travels and what he had experienced to someone.

The local man asked the Convert Brother to accompany him. And he would take him to his home region in the country were people still lived lives of piety.

Most of that region did not have roads so after several days of travel some of it on foot they arrived at that local brothers ancestral village.

It was a rural area the people in simple dwellings made from mud and twigs. No electricity, no modern conveniences, they made their living by raising cattle and grew their own vegetables.

On the night they arrived in the early hours he heard a humming sound coming from the surrounding homes. At fajr he asked what that sound was he was told that everyone in that village is a hafiz of Quran. And people in every households take turns in the night of waking up reciting portions of the Quran. After Fajr and Asr they would have circles of learning and zikr. During the day the men would take the cattle for grazing.

The women would after they had finished their early morning household chores would gather together to do Zikr.

Bismillah.

Part (2) continuation of the above story.

The people of that region deep love for the Deen. Their characters and interactions moulded into the sunnah.

They had such respect for the people of learning that he mentions that once an Alim was passing through the region travelling on a mule. And when the locals heard about it they rushed to the path he was travelling on to catch a glimpse of him.

People were completely cut of from modernity. To reach the nearest cities it would take a couple of days travel on foot.

Instead they had local travelling bazaars, that is traders would set up a market for the day in different parts of the regions during various days of the week. To buy sell and trade.

To be continued.....,,,

Bismillah.

Part (3)

After staying a few months the Convert Brother, returned to America. Attending University got married had children. After a passage of 15 to 20 years. He developed a desire to visit that West African country again. When he arrived he was shocked to discover that the region he had visited had been swept by modernity.

He enquired as to what had happened he was told that shortly after he left. An American company had discovered petroleum and huge oil reserves in the area. And was negotiating an agreement with government for the lease. When the locals found out they opposed it, they wanted their ancestral land and way of life left untouched for future generations. The Government of the country fearing a rebellion by the local tribes became hesitant.

So the headquarters of the oil company in America. Put together a think tank a group of experts of behavioural science, history, religion etc.

Told them to come with up with a plan, as to how they could get the locals to agree to the drilling of their land.

The plan they came up was to invest in the local infrastructure and expose the locals to modernity. In the guise of improving their living conditions.

They built roads so that people could easily reach the cities and the lifestyle of the cities would then have an influence upon them. They provided electricity and with the electricity they provided free TV’S and antenna dishes. So their could be influenced by the dramas, films and music on TV.

They even placed billboards on the roads that they had built leading to the cities and on those boards various household goods would be marketed with photos using female models.

In this region were people had a complete focus on the akhirah. Their new focus was on the dhuniya having large modern houses, cars, getting visas to the west. Etc.

And this is how the westerners destroy religious culture....

Bismillah.

Do the opposite of what those who want to destroy Islam are doing.

The education system and media would need to be used to promote the teachings of Islam.

That has been tried and still is being. It doesn't work as well in practice as in theory. Using the asbaab of the baatil to promote deen seems to only benefit the baatil.

Infact, after a society has been destroyed by such liberal ideas there is little that can be done to bring about a change quickly. The kind of Muslims that we are today, even the more religious ones are not prepared to wait decades and decades for the society to start changing. The Muslims of today are living in such decadence and an age where we are pretty much the Sudras of the world, that those who want a change, want it within their lifetimes. No one is motivated to work for a change which will come when they are in their graves and the future generations will get to enjoy.

It is in such times that alternate ideas of societal betterment arise like what has happened in Pakistan with Imran Khan. He presented an idea that seemed doable in the short run to people and people were drawn towards it. It's still not the ideal solution. Muslim societies are damaged immensely by the rise of liberalism and to effect a change in them requires something extreme. Something that will jolt them back to Allah.

Bismillah.

Mocking someone is inappropriate. The Brother has love for the Deen and concern for the ummah. And May ALLAH increase him in it.

Chapter (49) 11 sūrat l-ḥujurāt (The Dwellings)

Sahih International: O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.

Brother I didn't go anywhere. I was staying at my place.

I felt, participating in discussion here is widening gap between myself and ulema and the pious. It is denting my relation with ulema and the pious.

I have a small portion of Imam and piety, I don't like to lose that also.

I continue to browse this forum regularly but I have restrained from posting anything here.

This is an islamic forum I regularly visit. Although I have stopped posting here.

It is very unfortunate that this forum has stopped functioning. Br @abumohammed and @Akay occasionally post a few messages.
