Excerpt from Ibrahim Dewla’s speeches.

When it rains, the land shows what it can potentially grow. If its land of saffron, saffron will grow. If its land of corn, corn will grow.

Land reveals what it has underneath it only after ‘water’ falls on it. If it doesn’t rain, nothing will sprout from the land.

How valuable is land of saffron? Yet without water, nothing will grow. Water is the only thing that can give life to the land and nothing else.

“And We created from water every living thing.” (21:30)

When it rains, the land will prove useful and provide benefit.

“Have they not seen that We drive water to the dry land, then We bring forth crops thereby from which their cattle and they themselves have food? So, do they not observe?” (32:27)

Allah sends down rain on barren land, it produces food that feeds the human beings and cattle.

Similar to rain, from sky came revelation, that is guidance for human being so their abilities are utilized correctly.

Similar to the land with potential to grow, every human being has potential abilities that can be developed.

Just like rain gives life and benefits the land. Revelation will guide and benefit the human being.

With guidance from revelation, those abilities can accomplish great tasks such that Allah is pleased, creation is pleased, Allah’s rights are fulfilled, other’s rights are fulfilled, one’s own rights are fulfilled.

Allah has placed this great potential in every human being.

Effort of calling people to Allah is like giving water to the land. This is why Prophet (saw) compared his efforts to rain.

Prophet (saw) said, “The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth…” (Bukhari 79)
