would be wise to let admin and authorizers run the forum, and let them make whatever decisions they see fit. pointless instructing other users to stop posting, and pointless posting such post on threads that do not contribute towards the topic.

may Allah swt grant us all the correct understanding, starting with myself first.

Assalam Alaykum,

3 years later and this thread has had 13,000+ views, I pray insha'Allah it has benefitted and guided many from neglecting their prayers and committing any sin, ameen.

As my sister is getting married, I thought I would post her workable solution... she is having the mendhi applied at 8am in the morning. As the next prayer time is long, she could have it on for at the most 10 hours, remove it and then perform her fardh prayer/s. Now she only has to worry about how to eat! haha

In the UK, prayer times are really spaced out in the summer, so the mendhi can be applied during the day and in the winter during the long night so there really should be no reason why the apllication of mendhi should affect the performance of ones daily salaah.

May Allah bless us all
Wasalam

Asslamo Allaikum,

There are two ways of looking at things in life:

1) Look for Sunnah and followit

2) Look for dispensations anddifferences of opinions and follow them

Ask yourself how did the Prophet (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam)and the Sahaba (RA) married? If "religiouspeople" compromise then the generations of Muslims in UK might as well kissIslam goodbye.

Calling the ceremony of Mehndi (Hina Party, as the recenttrend in UK) doesn't take away the fact that the roots of this HARAM lie inHindu'ism and not Islam.

Taking out all the objectionable items e.g. Music, freemingling etc. DOES NOT TAKE AWAY THE FACT that this practise and custom isBORROWED from another religion.

A mufti can make a ruling but at the end of the day it's theperson attending who will be answering to Allah (SWT) and I think everyoneknows very well what "Mehndi" actually is and don't need a Mufti to tell them.
