Excerpt from Sulaiman Moola and my notes.

Here, we get a queue from the Quran that the children of Yaqub (as) who are siblings of Yusuf (as).

Scholars say in essence they committed five major crimes.

1. They abducted their brother, Yusuf (as).
2. They made him a slave.
3. They separated him from father.
4. They lied to a father.
5. They lied to a Prophet.

At no point, did Yaqub (as) excommunicate his children saying ‘I am not your dad. You are not my son’. He never said that. So we don’t excommunicate our children, we don’t sever our ties with them.

Ibn Umar رضي الله تعلي عنه didn't speak to his son for the rest of his life over a matter. The spirit of Islam allows excommunication over certain issues and it is deemed to be a commendable thing. What has reached us about the incidents of Ambiya عليهم السلام is Ijmaali and what Nabi ﷺ had left us with is in depth. Ibn Umar رضي الله تعلي عنه had a panoptic view over the Shariah.

Note: google translation was not correct, so I have quoted in urdu . And arabic ahadith.

To maintain family ties is an express order of Allah, which is replete in the Qur’aan. Allah Ta’ala says, And remember when we took the covenant from the Banu Israaeel that do not worship but Allah and be favourable to parents and relatives.

In another place, Allah Ta’ala states, Verily, Allah orders justice and Ihsaan (to be favourable) and to offer to relatives In a Hadith Qudsi, Allah Ta’ala states, Family ties (Rahm) is from Rahmaan. Whomsoever maintains family ties, I will maintain him and whosoever breaks family ties I will break him.

Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam] stated, Whosoever loves his wealth to be increased and his life to be increased, he should maintain ties. In another Hadith, Rasulullah [sallallahu alayhi wasallam] announces a severe warning for a person who severs family ties, he said, The person who severs family ties will not enter Jannah. In another Hadith, he states, The mercy of Allah does not descend upon that nation among whom there is a Qaati'e (person who severs family ties).

The importance of family ties is clear from the above quotations. According to Shariah, a child must be obedient to his father. Rasulullah [sallallaahu alayhi wasallam], The pleasure of Allah lies in the pleasure of the father and the displeasure of Allah lies in the displeasure of the father. However, if the father instructs the son to do something against the order of Allah, he cannot obey his father in violating the law of Allah. The son should respectfully express this to his father. Insha Allah, Allah will guide the father that his son is responding to him only according to the order of Allah and he too will be granted tawfeeq to express submissions to the order of Allah like his son.

I quote from Mufti Shafi sahib RA

Sharpness of feeling is a wonderful thing, but when it becomes painful, it is a disease
My original disease has been diagnosed by حاذق حکما. The sense of zakawat, although it is a perfection in itself, but when it becomes too much, it starts to cause pain, at that time the doctors declare it as a disease and prescribe things for it which reduce the zakawat and create some kind of less sensitive and less responsive.. .

You concede that I'm addressing something different, but you still replied to it as if I was saying something against maintaining family ties.

There was no need to quote about validity of qata taluq in a thread where a incident from quran was quoted to motivate Muslims on bonding relations with relatives, even during worst circumstances.
You claim , quran is discussing ijmaal and you have tafseel.

I don't claim anything from myself.
In the west kids become murtad and their parents find out and accept them.
They will take strength off of posts like this.

You treat everything as if it's an argument.
Relax, and stop taking things personal.

I quote Ali Mian Nadvi RA.

Yes, muslims in many places are helpless before tyrants and oppressors.

But I won't agree that we muslims are weak and helpless to protect imaan and islamic culture of our children.

end of quote:
I add:
There are options available, but.... we are induced with sedatives of life style of our host country, and we have sacrificed our children for our desires.
