This is quoted by Zohaib Rehman, a friend of Asad Naeem, a resident of Gujar Khan area of Rawalpindi district.

Asad Naeem died in a boat accident while trying to illegally reach Europe via Libya and were reported dead to the family by a Pakistani agent in Libya.

It was told "You would have migrated to Gulf, your Islam would have been safe"

Replied "here we get salaries in Francs, ₣"

If it wasn't for Muslims living in the West despite the challanges, there would be no one in those lands to take the name of Allah Taala. It is Muslim migrants who have built mosques and darul ulooms there. It is Muslim migrants who are responsible for introducing the religion and culture of Islam in those lands. The West is also part of the Ummah of Rasoolallah sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. Islam spread in many lands because of Muslims who travelled there for their livelihood.

Back in the day, yes people's intentions were solely for money. All they could see was the dollar and sterling. And today, instead of counting their money, they are counting their Qadha Salah. Alhumdulillah, at least they are even doing that and have their regret.

Today, I see 2nd generation and 3rd generation Muslims who are better than many back home. I see many Huffaz of the Quran whilst their parents or grandparents were not even practicing!

I see young practicing Muslims and Muslimah's who have brought their parents back on the deen. I see young men who are qualified scholars, I see young women in the same position and studying to be Alimah's.

Yet, these 2nd and 3rd generation don't have anywhere else to go back to. All they know is the West! Many no longer have family back home.

To say that we are 100x worse is unjustified in my view. I see far worse in Muslim lands.

In fact, I hear that the 3rd generation of Muslims are out doing those back home and in some cases, I've even seen that (from family to family, not as a whole)

I've been to India and Pakistan as I'm both :) and I can tell you for sure, they found it really strange that we were more Muslims than they were!

I told them that they adopted the British Raj in their lifestyle whilst the British were in their country. Yet, many living in Britain have upheld their Islamic roots. The only thing British about many Muslims, is their language and passport. Otherwise, Alhumdulillah, Islam gets stronger and the number of reverts are rising!

In fact, a Pakistani sister was being told that her kids put her Pakistani family kids to shame. Her kids in Niqab and Pakistani (family) kids going out with no hijab!

Just because a country legalise same sex marriage or if so called Muslim politician's (like Hamza Yusuf of Scotland) says he doesn't believe same sex marriage is a sin, then that's a monitory. Or the so called Muslim mayor (Sadiq Khan) of London is pro lgbtq, then it should be understood that these people are Yes Men who should not be compared with the majority of Muslims.

It is what it is and each to their own. Actions are according to intentions and each man shall have what he intended.
