Excerpt from Umar Palanpuri’s speeches

There are three methods of asking:

1. Asking through the tongue
2. Asking through one’s condition. One makes their condition appear such they are bringing attention to themselves ie in one way asking.
3. Asking not verbally but indirectly in a deceptive manner.

Abdur Rahman ibn ‘Awf reported: Prophet (saw) said, “..And no servant opens the door of begging but that Allah will open the door of poverty.”

(Musnad Ahmad 1674)

Abdullah ibn Umar reported: The Prophet (saw), said, “A man continues to beg people until he will come on the Day of Resurrection without any flesh on his face.”

(Bukhari 1405, Muslim 1040)

We don’t ask other human beings. If we have to ask, we ask Allah and display this ‘asking from Allah’ not to others.
