Has anyone got any tips for someone who is going to do umrah on his own?

If you have anything to add to this thread please do.

Some things that will be particularly useful:

Cheap hotels near haram and masjid nabawi?

Is it best to book hotels from booking.com in advance or is it best to go there and book directly with hotels?

Best places to eat and why? ( is food cheap but good quality, close to haram, reliable slaughter)

Any links to people who can enhance the experience when there?

If you have any tips whatsoever let us know

Remember us in your Dua's and make every single dua the Prophet (saw) made in one go!

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah narrates that Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) made lots of du’as which we were unable to memorise. We said: ‘O Prophet of Allah, You have made many du’as which we were unable to memorise.’

Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) replied:

‘Should I not teach you’ll something that will encompass all of that?

Recite:

Translation:

O Allah, we ask You the good which Your Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) asked of You, and we seek refuge in You from the evil where from Your Nabi Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alayhi wasallam) sought refuge. And You are the One from Whom help is sought and the responsibility to communicate [the truth] is Yours and there is no power or strength except with Allah.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best

Regarding food, I suggest avoiding chicken there. Best to consult ulama on the details, as they have done a lot of research on it, but the gist of it is that there is a lot of suspicion regarding the chicken being used in most places in Saudia.

I am very happy to share with you the very informative things.
1. Make sure to read up about Umrah and its rituals before your trip. This will help you prepare and plan for your trip better.

2. Research and book your flights, hotels, and transportation in advance. This will help you save money and avoid any last-minute hassles.

3. Pack only the necessary items for your Umrah and plan accordingly. It is advisable to carry a light suitcase or backpack, as you will be walking a lot during your Umrah.

4. Make sure to carry a copy of your passport, ID, and your Umrah visa.

5. Carry a prayer rug, miswak (for brushing teeth), and ihram (clothing worn during Umrah).

6. Wear comfortable shoes that are easy to walk in.

7. Make sure to carry a map of the Haram and Masjid al-Nabawi.

8. Prepare a list of places you want to visit in Madinah and Makkah and plan your route accordingly.

9. Keep extra water and snacks with you to avoid dehydration and hunger.

10. Make sure to get the right vaccinations and medication before your trip.

11. Make sure to get travel insurance to cover any unforeseen incidents.

12. Make sure to stay in a safe and secure environment.

13. Make sure to be respectful of local customs and religious practices.

14. Make sure to be aware of your surroundings at all times.

15. Make sure to be courteous and polite to everyone you meet.

16. Make sure to ask for help if needed, as many people will be willing to help you.

17. Make sure to keep your passport, visa, and other important documents safe at all times.

18. Make sure to take time to reflect and enjoy your Umrah experience.
