As salam alaykum,

Does anyone here have a link to Mufti Taqi Usmani DB's rules for determining when a company's stock becomes halal to invest in?

Jazakallah brother onderun. The answer in the link was helpful. The fatwa refers to an article by Mufti Taqi Usmani DB. Would you perhaps be able to tell me where I can find Mufti Taqi DB's original article?

Quote:
Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari is student of Mufti Taqi Usmani

I believe there is a misunderstanding about him being a student.

I think Muadh posted something about this too.

I dont know. When I said he is a student, I referred to his (Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari) Darul Iftaa website as that's what it says there.

Mufti Muhammad ibn Adam al-Kawthari is a traditionally-trained Islamic scholar who has studied in various parts of the world including the UK, Pakistan, and Syria. His teachers include his father, Mawlana Adam, Shaykh Yusuf Motala, Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani, and Shaykh Abd al-Razzaq al-Halabi.

Maybe it was something else that Muadh was highlighting about him not being a student (at that time)

From what I recall, and I could be wrong, it was said that Mufti Taqi Usmani didn't teach him but they did meet and he learnt from him, like how everyone else learns from him. But learning something from another is knowledge acquired and not the same as being a student.

This biography claims that ijazah was given, so Allah knows best.
