I clicked on the very old threads when this forum first opened from circa 2004 and 2006. And recognised quite a few names many with less than the 100 posts.

I did not recognise them from Mufti Says because I did not even know it existed back then.

But from blogs and websites I used to visit. Blogs back then where a big thing and social media platforms as we know them today did not really exist...(even Facebook and Youtube had only just come into existence. )

So the early members were pioneers in more ways then one. Not only were they active on this website but they were also posting articles on other websites and their own blogs many of which are now defunct.

It takes me back years ago when I used to stay up into the early hours reading the articles posted on those blogs. And websites.

Its kind of strange to know many of the earlier generation of Mufti Says members. Were young students or had just graduated and where starting out in their careers.

And I suppose all these years later many of them will now be parents of teenagers.

Khayr I seem to be waffling. If any of you are reading this I would like to say your articles and posts all those years ago were an inspiration.


And May ALLAH grant you khayr and aafiyah in all your affairs and bless you abundantly with the blessed gifts of Sabr and Shukr Ameen.

Ratings were not introduced into the forum until much later. So many excellent posts would not hand been rated

Others have posted in topics that would never be given a negative rating.

Once again, it's all too do with the intention of the post.

If we do it for praise, showing off or simply just for the ratings, that's all we'll get here and in the hereafter. Then all these ratings means nothing.

If we correct our intention it will be much more beneficial.

If anyone remembers what year ratings were introduced, we can separate members into pre-ratings era and post-ratings era. The forum will have been online for nearly 20 years. We should try and preserve historical milestones. There are posts on here that are worth their ASCII code in gold.
