Shame the Masjid he visited a few weeks ago where an atheist embraced Islam at his hands, the Masjid hasn't taken any of the mentioned advise.

If only the laypeople listened to their Ulama and not the hype and traditions by committee members.

It was made by a Muslim King in Maghreb/Andalusia and popularised Saladins brother-in-law. Many scholars supported Mawlid such as Ibn Abadin, Shah Waliullah, and most other scholars during their lifetimes and also the ulema of Deoband wrote to the Arab scholars we support mawlid.

So in your opinion is it ok if a person does not want to celebrate mawlid? Say for example due to taqwa he wants to abstain in case he falls into bidah or shirk. Would that be a meritorious act on his part?

11 - You can argue the shadhilis hadrah is not from the first 3 salaf or the tawajjuh of the Naqshbandis (giving light from the murshid to the murid). Also the different zikr not mentioned in Hadith which could not be found in Hadith.
