Good to get a clarification on the topic by a Barelwi Imam. Good points made from him. But, the fact is, these issues of fiqh become their Aqeedah. They have made these issues their aqeedah and without these, they declare people out of the fold of Islam or Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaat in the least.

Shame the Masjid he visited a few weeks ago where an atheist embraced Islam at his hands, the Masjid hasn't taken any of the mentioned advise.

If only the laypeople listened to their Ulama and not the hype and traditions by committee members.

Umm not to be disrespectful or anything but you haven’t answered all my questions. I’m still want to know is good bida a thing like mawlid or different litanies of zikr and are there any non deobandi scholars who don’t do mawlid who are currently alive and who aren’t salafi or quraniyoon.

Quote:
is there such thing as a good bidah?

Yes, I call it Taraweeh based on evidence (full 20 rakaats, not 8, not 12)

Quote:
People say because Yahya (as) was born in a blessed day - all Prophets were born on a blessed day - is this true?

Any day a Prophet was born was blessed. No doubt about it. Regardless of what day it specifically was.

Quote:
Would Abu Lahabs punishment reduce because of freeing a slave while celebrating the birth of the Prophet (ﷺ).

I understand this is partially proven in a Hadith but your description is not in full. i.e. Is the punishment lessened totally or ust on Monday etc.

Quote:
And did Shah Waliullah رحمة الله عليه celebrate Mawlid?

As the sister mentioned, in which manner did he he do so if he did?

Quote:
because we remember Prophet Musa (as) in the day of Ashura and fast, why is this/this not an argument for Mawlid.

Allah and his Rasul (saw) gave us the teachings, so we believe and follow those. Anything after that would contradict the verse of the Quran - On this day we have perfected your Deen...

Sorry, I’m replying late - I was quite busy. There was none from the first 3 generations which created this issue. It was made by a Muslim King in Maghreb/Andalusia and popularised Saladins brother-in-law. Many scholars supported Mawlid such as Ibn Abadin, Shah Waliullah, and most other scholars during their lifetimes and also the ulema of Deoband wrote to the Arab scholars we support mawlid.

Just to clarify.

You are saying there was no mawlid (as practiced today) from the time of the first 3 generation of Muslims?

I thought as much. I just wanted to clarify. Jzk.

So in your opinion is it ok if a person does not want to celebrate mawlid? Say for example due to taqwa he wants to abstain in case he falls into bidah or shirk. Would that be a meritorious act on his part?

Q1: Can you name anyone in the first three generations that celebrated the Mawlid?

ANSWER: No one from the first three generations celebrated the mawlid.

Q2: More important question is HOW you celebrate mawlid?

Q3: And what date do you accept as the birth date of Rasulullah صلی الله عليه وسلم?

Q4: (just posted): In your opinion is it ok if a person does not want to celebrate mawlid?

Additional questions;

Q5: Apart from fabricated hadith, is it permissible to go on a march to celebrate a birthday? Please do not use fabricated hadith as proof

Q6: is it permissable to go out with flags on a fixed date to celebrate the prophets birthday? Please do not use fabricated hadith as proof.

Q7: is it permissible for men and women to mingle, especially in the month of Rabbi Al Awwal?

Q8: is there any evidence for building models of the Kabah or the Green dome to celebrate the birth of the prophet (saw) and then set out in a march?

Q9: When the Eid of Jahil times was eradicated and replaced by Eid ul Adha and Eid ul Fitr, we were told that there were only two Eid days permitted for us. Is there a 3rd Eid day (Eid Miladun Nabi)? If yes, where is the verse of the Quran or the hadith?

Q10: Did the Sahaba, Tabi'een and tabi" tabeen make an error by not celebrating the mawlid

Q11: Is this hadith a lie? Prophet (saw) said, "Stick to my sunnah and the sunnah of my rightly guided Caliphs, beware of Newly invented matters, for every new matter is Bid'ah and every Bid'ah is misleading.

I don’t support mawlid however I wanted to know both arguments and the refutation for the ones for mawlid so I don’t have doubts. That’s one thing I want to know how bad is mawlid. Is there ikhtilaf on this topic or not.

2. I don’t do mawlid but some Pakistani people I know do it.
3. Most scholars as far as I know do accept the date 12th of Rabi al-Awwal.
4. It’s ok not to celebrate it for those who believe it’s good to do mawlid and it’s haram to do it for those who believe it’s haram.
5 & 6 - I don’t know
7 - Absolutely women should avoid intermingling with men for no reason.
8,9,10 - I don’t know
11 - You can argue the shadhilis hadrah is not from the first 3 salaf or the tawajjuh of the Naqshbandis (giving light from the murshid to the murid). Also the different zikr not mentioned in Hadith which could not be found in Hadith.
