I ordered an extra large metal calligraphy wall decor from Etsy
Free delivery etc etc with a footnote stating that there may be taxes to be paid in the receiving country.
I still ordered it and did get a separate invoice from FedEx a few weeks later asking for almost £50 for import taxes. (Charged by weight and size I think)
I wasn't happy, i told FedEx that I simply placed an order online for an item that said fee delivery. Why do I have to pay import export charges, I'm not doing business.....
I won my case and didn't have to pay.
So, be careful if the item is coming from abroad. Read the small print.
JazakAllah khairan for your kind offer but it's not something urgent at the moment as I have a home made stand albeit cowboy job. There are not many like this on the internet so it seems they are solely made in Turkey. Something to keep an eye out for the next time I go there.
