السلام عليكم
This thread is for everyone's benefit in regards to asking and answering basic Tajweed related question.

For my question, please see the blue arrow in the attached image.
If I pause there where the arrow is, do I drop both dhamma or just one?

Jazaakumullaahu khairan.
Could you elaborate on what the tajweed rule that is applied here?

I remember sometimes you drop one, and sometimes you drop two. How do you determine when to do which?

While there is no alternative to learning Tajweed from a teacher, I have found the following website to be helpful when one is unsure on how to recite a particular Ayah.

www.yaquran.com/yqrecitation.html

You can select the Surah and Ayah number, and choose from a large list of reciters.
