From 26th March the organ donation system in Scotland is changing to the opt-out system, similar to the system we have in place in England and Wales.
I have compiled FAQs on the subject which I hope will be informative for Muslims and perhaps others. Although there are lots of websites and organisations, webinars etc. providing information for Muslims on organ donation, many of these only do so to encourage people to donate rather than give a complete picture of what the whole process involves so that individuals can make an informed decision themselves. The subject of organ retrieval is quite complex, but it is necessary to understand the fine details before deriving at a decision of whether to donate or not to donate.
