salamalykum im not indian/pakstani I am afghan but I have read that in indo/pak communities there is a big problem where people are either brelvi or deobandi and they have issues with eachother. It is really strange to me becaise I live in california and we have a huge indo/pak community and I have seen many deobandi masjids but I have not been able to even find a brelvi one. I have seen some other communties that actually had 1 brelvi masjid but tht was it and it seems like people barley even attend it. so how is this bralvi issue going on if they barley even have any masjids?

By their ideology they are aggressive people and when they accumulate in a critical number they occupy our Mosques by force. Till their number is sufficient they lay low and mingle with us and pray in our mosques.

Afghans have a relationship with India which predates Deobandi/Barelwee split and Afghans (like Bangladeshees) are closer to Deobandees due to the influence of Mujaddid Alf Thani (RA) and Shah Waliullah (RA), in fact the last Khaleefa in the Silsila of Mujaddid Alf Thani (RA) in Islamabad is Afghan

That might be the case in california but certainly not in the UK.

Deobandis manage 42% of the mosques whilst Barelvis manage 24% in the UK.

the other day i got an article sent to me from academia from a brelvi. this sheikh was saying the deobandies are wahabies and they are the ones doing suicide bombings in pakistan and india which is clearly a lie.

you are correct and to be honest after looking at the article more carefully and thinking about it, the bralvi sheikh didnt actually say that I guess it is definitely a more complicated issue. Alhamdulilah I am glad I am not affected by it personally, it seems to be more of a problem for desi brothers which inshallah I hope will stop one day. i think for any deobandi brother who is having problems with this they should listen to sheikh Hasan Alis lecture on it because he has a very balanced view . Even tho it doesnt affect me that much as desi brothers but I also had some wrong beliefs about which he clarified very well alhamdulilah.

has usually mostly deobandi ,Chicago,New York,Detroit,parts of Texas and California.

We have 5 Deobandi Madrasahs here in Chicago,one of them is Moulana Tariq Jameel Sbs Madrasah.Many of them were established in the last 7-10 years.
