I am pretty sure this idiom has been around for a few centuries.

It was rhetorical based on the quote backing why I find the quote to be wrong to begin with. I think only a few fully understood my post.

My feeling is that philosophy has that depressing tone in general, if not always.

The trick is to extricate oneself from the philosophical musings.

Here is Muslim indulgence in a similar context.

Gungunata ja raha tha ek faqeer
Dhoop rehti hai na saya der tak

A Faqir, on the move, was humming the following
Neither the sun nor the shadow lasts for ever

Now the context is clear.

The quote is about this world.

In this world the good days pass by and in this world the bad days pass by.
In this world neither is permanent.

Of course the Noble Qur'an is best in this regard, as expected.

After every difficulty there is ease, verily, after every difficulty there is ease.

This perhaps should solve our problem. Though the rule of this world is little bit of ease after difficulty and that too for a while.
Then there is little bit of difficulty for a while.

Those who have slammed the dictum all good things must come to an end have done injustice to us by focusing on the negative.

As Dr Zakir Naik says the Noble Qur'an is the most positive book in the world.

The Islamic thing, thus, is to focus on the positive.

That is was the Noble Qur'an does.

I'm sorry this has absolutely nothing related to my post.

My point was that I feel "All good must come to an end" is simply a bad quote to be used as philosophy. It's fundamentally incorrect and I have always had an issue with it.

That's all I was saying. Why does that have to become so complex?

Like you said before, very few really understood what you meant when you made the post. Maulana, you'll have to forgive us juhala. We tend to view all your posts as fatawa.

It was a slow but natural process where people including the moderators lost the will to keep it running.

That didn't bother me. But clearly I bothered a few by disagreeing with wordings and concept of the poetry quote.

I know that being an admin is a thankless job and I just wanted to let you know that every ayah and every hadith that is posted here goes directly into your book of deeds, as also every word of solace that is posted here and it becomes a means for someone's steadfastness in their deen. Maulana, you'll reap rewards you cannot imagine for your perseverance. I for one am very grateful for all that you and all the other mods and authorizers do to keep this forum up and running. May Allah Taala make it a means of salvation for all of you. Ameen.

The reason that happens is because I know the context I tend to go straight to the point. So the only ones who will grasp it immediately without explanation will be those who already agree with the view to begin with.

I know I need to work on that where I should really break it down so it's not misunderstood. That's why I am a hidden fan of a few members who post here that can make posts so clear from the start.

Sometimes I post and within a minute I've edited it at least 5 times to ensure there's no misunderstanding.

As for Fatwa, lol, I noticed that when a member sounded so distraught when I shared a video from someone who I think isn't all evil. But I've learnt to get on with it. I just dump the headaches on abu mohammed. Don't tell him.
