I have realised that it was incorrect on my part to discuss on an Islamic forum about good behaviour towards non Muslims.

I may be authorised to delete relevent threads. Or admin can do the same.

Jazakallah Khair.

I disagree with you.
Quote:

This is not correct!

We need such posts as this is the true teaching of Islam.

But at the same time, we must accept and remind each other that there is also another side!

In all honesty, the issue may simply be lack of understanding and the manner in which some messages are communicated.

Some posts of yours are very good, yet at the same time many of your posts (or majority of them) are confusing. This could be due to your presentation in a foreign language (to you) or it could be your misunderstanding.

If your posts are not filled with displeasure for Pakistan, nationalism, poetry, riddles and no sign of acknowledgement of the foretold Hadith or of the obvious meanings others are trying to make you admit or agree and even accept, then I don't see why anyone will object.

If your posts start showing the reality of kufr and shirk in every form and how we must distance ourselves from it, then of course others will be encouraged to follow and read the positive posts on respecting the non Muslim neighbours.

Until then, everyone will simply profile you as one who is a nationalist, anti Pakistani, anti Jihad and so on.

I apologise if I sound harsh, but this is what I gather from the response of 99% of the other members and their feelings too.

Some members adopted an adversarial tone towards brother Saad, which was unfortunate. I felt his pain on many occasions. It was obvious he was not able to articulate his point of view adequately. We realize that brother Saad is a Tablighi so he will abandon an argument instead of trying to take it to its logical conclusion when people respond in a patronizing tone.

This is simply what he has done here.

There will never be agreement between the points of views of Indian and Pakistani Muslims, so political arguments will be presented as arguments of aqeedah and vice versa, and this will aggravate and not deescalate an argument.

We are not all at the same level of maturity and some of us still need to clock in a few more years or decades of life experiences before we are able to nuance subtler issues.

Islam is very easy to practice. All the basic beliefs of Islam are simple to understand. When things get foggy we leave it to the understanding of experts. To classify every ijtehadi difference as a matter of truth versus falsehood makes it difficult to promote Islamic brotherhood and unity.

Someone disagrees with us, we try to reach common ground. This fosters unity and allows people a chance to reflect on their opinions, and perhaps even repent if the error is egregious.

In online communication it is important to go out of our way and be more courteous to our fellow members while making duas for them behind their backs. This prevents animosity from taking root in our hearts for fellow Muslims.

I apologize if I've overstepped my bounds.

Unfortunately he set the tone and scene when he first came to this forum with a clear agenda to lay blame on fellow Muslims for the treatment of Indian Muslims at the hands of the Hindu mushrikeen.

He was the one trying to create division between 2 groups of Muslims and siding with the mushrikeen due to nationalism and patriotism towards his non muslim rulers.

I don't accept that his English is so weak that he is confused and unable to convey his beliefs. There may be sporadic moments of confusion from time to time due to a language gap, but on the whole he knows what he is saying and what is being said to him.

I have come across people with this patriotic and nationalistic mindset towards a nation of mushrikeen many times both within and outside of my own family so I am very familiar with the argument he is trying to make. I am also very familiar with his mindset and attitude when it comes to discussing the matters of the deen.

He came here to dictate. He did not come here to learn or discuss. He came here with an agenda and was not willing to even acknowledge the other side of the argument. When a difficult question or answer that did not serve his agenda was put forward to him he would ignore, misdirect, and go off on a tangent to steer the discussion back towards his own agenda.

He started formulating opinions about the other users without knowing their backgrounds and experiences. He just assumed that people on this forum are mere keyboard warriors and have not contributed or made sacrifices for the deen. He start goading and antagonizing members based on this assumption, but if he was sincere and asked about others credentials then he would have understood better. Only problem with this is that it would not have served his agenda.

I could go on and on. I don't even need to understand Ssaad to understand his mindset as it is the same mindset that is found in indians and tablighis the world over. I have first hand experience of both because I am of Indian heritage and I also used to be a diehard Tablighi just like himself. I also displayed arrogance, superiority, pig headedness, ignorance, etc in the same way as it is the culture of the tablighis the world over. I have been in Tabligh Jamaat to many different countries for months at a time and have found that they all have similar traits. I have also met many good people and some great people in Tabligh Jamaat who have been a huge inspiration and influence on my life, but I have also found that such people eventually either break off from Tabligh Jamaat or they carry out the work in a limited manner without getting involved too deeply.

His main 2 arguments as I have understood it is...

1. Pakistan is responsible for the way the mushrikeen of India treats it's muslim residents. If Pakistan were to refrain from antagonizing India then eventually the mushrikeen would accept and lovingly embrace it's muslim residents as fully fledged Indians.

2. Muslims of India should live with the mushrikeen of India as brothers and sisters of the same nation with universal love and acceptance, and the only thing impeding that is Pakistan.

Both of these arguments are flawed in many ways. In fact the entire foundations of these arguments are flawed.

Ssaad has shown clear hatred towards the Muslims of Pakistan in preference for the mushrikeen of India based on nationality and patriotism towards India, and in doing so has cut himself off and created division between himself and the ummah of Rasoolullah (saw). This actually illustrates why there is a requirement and need in Islam for Muslims to distance themselves from the non Muslims.

Personally I feel that Ssaad should be banned or at least restricted from starting new threads and his replies to other threads should be heavily moderated. The admins of this forum have always been very lenient, but I believe that in Ssaads case they should put aside their leniency as it is difficult to engage with Ssaad and his multiple threads which could end up being a means of misguidance if they remain unchallenged due to the amount of time it takes and due to the reluctance of many members to engage with Ssaad due to futility.

I hope that one day Ssaad sees the error of his misunderstanding and breaks away from whatever and whoever is guiding him towards this misunderstanding.

Whatever the topic, whatever the disagreement, online or in our lives, we all just need to do one thing which will create the bond that is missing in families and in the Ummah - its in the quote by Mufti Menk;

Quote:
Prefer kind, gentle & measured words over harsh speech

and this is from the way of our Nabi sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam

I don't think this brother is a nationalist. The main issue in my opinion is that he has a completely flawed understanding of jihad. May Allah ta'ala guide us all.

I disagree with the first part and agree with the second part.

I have found through personal experience and close family members that indians are very patriotic and nationalistic towards India and this includes Indian Muslims. Also indians feel they are superior to other nations especially Pakistan. Indians in general have a particular dislike for Pakistan and Pakistanis. This dislike has also made its way to the UK.

Hierarchy and self superiority is a very important and integral part of Indian culture. Not just with the hindus and their caste system, but also with the Muslims. The Muslims of India also has a caste system. I am not very familiar with it, but this caste system even affects the way Muslims deal with each other. The Muslims of India have castes such as vohra, ajum, malabhai and many others which I'm not aware of. I have experienced this first hand in India. I recall as a child when travelling in India my family were allowed to stay in a hotel, but some others that were considered lower caste were not allowed. Both the travellers and hotel owners were muslim. I also recall some muslim people used to visit my grandfather, but they were not allowed in the home. They were only allowed on the veranda. This caste system has also made its way over to the UK through Indian Muslims.

I have chosen to ignore and not engage with Ssaad. Why don't you ask him if he is a nationalist and patriotic towards India.

Yes you are right. I'm aware about all this racism and cast system common amonst Indian Muslims. But this brother seems to be confused. He does not show that particular kind of nationalistic and smug superior attitude that "we are INDIAN MUSLIMS" which some of the brothers in the past showed. I don't know which Ulama he follows but his understanding is seriously impaired. If he follows Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi RA then I'm sure he never rejected the obligation of jihad in any of his works. I don't know what is it that makes him so repulsive towards the verses and ahadith on jihad. But I feel it is not nationalism. His views on jihad are the same no matter where you live in the world.

Brother abuzayd2k on the other hand comes across as a nationalist. Allah ta'ala knows best.
