You memorised it in modern English? :) I never even knew that there was a (Modern) English version of it.

We had to learn it this way:

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy Name,

thy kingdom come,

thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those

who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

and the power, and the glory,

for ever and ever. Amen.

This is very closely matched to beliefs of a certain sect in Islam

That is actually the one I memorized. I only did a quick search to grab a copy, so I just used it.

I knew there were words missing, but I haven't said it in so long that I no longer remember it with total clarity. (That's why I attempted the alliteration, to make it closer to what I remembered)

You managed to learn by heart this prayer in all your life, while one of the miracles of the Quran is that it is memorable (this includes the verses recited in Salah) by millions of children and adults. SubhanAllah!

Yes, I know it sounds bad, but I was able to memorize innumerable spelling words, mathematics, history and many other subjects.

That's why I ended that story with perhaps I was destined to become a Muslim. (May not be an exact quote, didn't look at it.)

No it doesn't sound bad, it quite normal actually.

I wonder if there is any non Muslim who knows the bible by heart.

As for the Quran, there are millions of people who know it cover to cover and majority of them don't even understand Arabic.

In fact, you've been talking to so of them on this forum.

I am one of those unfortunate ones who knows many Surahs of the Quran by heart without knowing their meaning by heart nor understanding it fully when reading it, but not the entire Quran.

When I lie down to sleep or take a nap, I always say at least one Dua (since reading the Quran at least).
I'm constantly amazed at the things I recall or thoughts that come to mind.

This afternoon I recalled a prayer I had forgotten. I won't post it here, because it would be heretical and clearly refers to shirk. It begins with "Holy Mary" (PBUH). I won't type anything beyond that and I only use that so other reverts might be familiar with what I'm saying.

I would always forget what came after the shirk. Perhaps it was a mental block to keep me from performing shirk. If it wasn't in front of me, I couldn't recite from memory.

It does clearly show that many Catholics believed Isa (PBUH) was more than a "son".
Somehow, I never really thought of him that way and my explanation of the trinity may be far off as it applies to most other Christians. Yet, that was always my takeaway when I attended classes and read the bible.

Will someone remind me what I'm supposed to say or type when mentioning a prophet? I was going to use (PBUH) but I'm not sure if that is only used after the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

PBUH (Peace be upon him) is used for all prophets.

In Arabic it is written like this: علیه السلام (alayhis Salam) (peace be upon him)

For Mary, we say علیها السلام (alayhas Salam) (peace be upon her)

Please if anyone notices me using a phrase improperly, in any forum, please post a correction.

The only way I'll truly learn is constant reminder from my Brothers and Sisters.
Just knowing people will do this, will make me less afraid to use unfamiliar terms.

In addition to this, exclusively for Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) we can use (saw) as a code which is ṣallāllāhu ʿalayhī wa-sallam which will produce (saw)

I think you are confusing subhanahu wata'ala with sallalahu alaihiwasalam.
