As I said earlier, my knowledge on the subject is purely ‘bookish’ , so you will certainly find ‘big gapes’ in my knowledge, as is true for every subject which one have not practically experienced but learned only from books...

I think, it simply means, lataif are not something ‘physical’ , that they are ‘subtle’ and ‘abstract’, and beyond description. In a way, like ROOH, we can not explain them any further.

But, I have already admitted, I don’t know the answer except that,.. ‘that is how it is written in the books’...., so I apologise !

There is a difference of opinion. Some ulema are of the opinion that both are the same and some are of the opinion that both are separate.

I agree with those who believe that nafs and ruh are the same thing. It makes more sense to me and make things less complicated.

Our Ruh passes through different stages based upon our actions, decisions and environment. Good actions lead it to enlightenment (towards Mutmainnah and beyond...). Bad actions lead it to Ammarah and below...

Dhikr and Salah are it's food for the better. Idle and rubbish talk, backbiting, lies, abuse and other sins are it's food for the worse.

Assalam u Alaikum,

As I have mentioned it before. The best way to avoid or ignore these voices is to remain busy in dhikr. If you have children then have spend fun time with them. If anyone from your family is according to your temperament then spend quality time with that member.

Remain in good company and surround yourself with good actions. Create a palace of good deeds and never neglect your salah, dhikr and quran. Insha Allah, as the time passes the voices will slow down even if they are not completely silenced.

The more determination you show, the weaker these voices will become.

Also, avoid thinking too much about punishment of Allah and focus on fahdail and goodness of Jannah. We are weak in iman. My daughter got very scared when I previously used to mention death and jahannum. She is only 7.5 years old. So I stopped talking about the Qahr of Allah and now I only talk about Jannah and she is happy and fine.

Shaytan wants to discourage us from mercy of Allah. We must do anything which keeps us encouraged to do good deeds.

Also stop blaming yourself for your past mistakes and forgive yourself. And start focusing on your present. Don't overburden yourself. Take some time for relaxation and halal recreation. Read halal novels. Listen to nasheeds. Listen to Quran. Keep your mind and body healthy through adequate sleep and healthy diet. Remain calm. Do exercise. Try to avoid negative people as much as possible. If you have to interact with them then keep the interaction at bare minimum.

What I want to say is that take it easy. Don't overburden yourself. Allah values consistency and not quantity.

In simple terms. Tassawuf is all about leaving bad habits and being able to enjoy acts of worship and good deeds.

When one commit sins, the awakened one gets shocked more than a non awakened one because of the activation of these very lataif. And when one offers salah, does dhikr, or recites Quran, or does any other good deed, then the awakened one enjoys these actions more than the sleeping ones.

So it makes you more sensitive and true human and more responsible and careful.

These things are not from the Qur’an or Sunnah so they can never be absolutely accurate. We can only be 100% certain about the Ilm that we have received from Wahi.

Wasalaam. JazakAllah khair brother.

I try to focus but for few days if i miss Zikar and Quran i feel i have became how i was earlier. When other does sins they are mostly same but when i neglect i am changed or feel disconnected.

If a kid watches youtube kids having songs and music, and adult listens it. Does it effect the heart? But thats unwanted.

JazakAllah khair brother for your encouragement. Thank you
