Salaam.

I want to know about self deception. I used to believe myself something else. After reading about Nafs, and its worship or by doing Azkar. Now I can see the Real insight of me by the will of Allah. My “consideration” about myself was Wrong.
I got to know about the actuality after Reading about it...... Alhamdulillah ALLAH is helping me working or fixing the spiritual problems that i have. But I want to know.

Why is it so? Why cant a person see His real self without reading Quran or without Azkar?

I see the non Muslims around, i feel like they aren’t able to see their real self. Only they read Quran or hear some lectures then they could see their real face.

But how can a person be sinful if he is not even aware of the reality? Why is the understanding of Nafs or self is this much complicated? Why not is as clear as we see things with physical eye?

I feel people would not likely be following wrong paths only if they knew about the Reality. Like you consider yourself Good but in reality you are otherwise and deceiving your Nafs.

Why a person is not aware of deceiving his own self?

JazakAllah for any help

My son is probably one of the best car drivers and fighter plane pilots I've ever seen on a games console :)

But would I trust him to drive my car?

I won't let him drive my car until I have seen him pass the real test. Even after that I won't trust him to drive my car without me in it.

My car is valuable to me, so I want to make sure he is capable of taking up that responsibility.

He knows that too. But due to his laziness, he just can't be bothered. He thinks he can drive, he thinks he knows it all, he thinks he'll do just fine. But I know the moment he gets into the car, he'll stall, he might scratch the car, have an accident and so on.

There are road signs all around him, yet he never sees them when walking or sitting in the car as a passenger or even when riding his bike.

He takes it for granted! All the signs are around him, but his gaming confidence makes him overlook the signs.

When he is determined, he will see all the signs, he will concentrate on taking lessons, he will practice driving, he will perfect his driving.

Until then, he will just be a good driver using a games controller.

Having said that, he does see some signs. The signs that are vital, like traffic signals, crossing signals. Things that are dangerous, he will see these.

So the signs are out there even if we try to ignore them, they are in our faces - warning us!

Even little children know what a red light at the traffic signals mean, they even know what the red/green man at the traffic signals mean.

People know the reality. They know what happens if they break the rules or laws. They know what happens when they go over their limits. They know they are going to die one day.

There are signs out there for people to see, but their confidence in themselves, their love of the fake reality and false promises deludes then and they know it.

We knew the reality before we came here. We chose to be human!
