Assalamu alaikum,

yesternight I noticed few biscuits in shopping mall (fairprice) in Singapore are from TESCO.

In general in Singapore, most halal products would be labelled as halal.

But I don't find halal symbol from products of UK like biscuits of TESCO.

Is there any app either in IOS or Android that helps in halal guidance.

I remember I used muftisays app before but it is not working now.

Regards

Walaykum Salaam,

TESCO is a chainstore and sell many items to cater for all people. Some branches sell certified Halal meats etc, but this is down to local area. Tesco sell branded items that can have labels of Halal on them but the Tesco branded items are generic, they will have standard information only.

With regards to the biscuits, most of them will have labels of "Suitable for Vegeterians" so inshaAllah these will be safe.

If they are not suitable for vegeterians, then double check the ingredients as some things are halal for us but are not eaten by vegeterians, although in the case of biscuits, it is not likely.

Look out for the obvious Haram ingredient and E-Numbers.

I haven't used this app in a very long time, but it should cover the basics
