salam

are prisoners considered travellers? if so do they shorten their salah. in the uk prisoners, especially high risk ones are moved from prison to prison. as they themselves do not know how long they will spend at each prison nor have any intention of being travellers or muqeem what is their situation. from what i been told they generually are kept for at least a minimum of 1 year at each prision but this is not a hard and fast rule and is totally in the hands of the authorities.

also relating to the topic, if a businessman travels to another city for business and intends to stay lets say for 3 months whilst he buys/sells stock, he will be considered as muqeem, but lets say after 3 months he hasnt completed his business and will only go back to his home city ones the business has concluded which could take 1 week or 1yr but he has no idea. will he be a musafir for the last leg of his stay or not
