Before people jump in with both feet and give their opinions my points are as follows:

  1. IF xs11ax says that he would rather give his business to a practising Muslim fair enough and I have no issues
  2. IF xs11ax says that he prefers to deal with practising Muslims and believes that there is Barakah in it, no issues either

We will discuss Ruyqa in stage 2

For right now, I am asking why does he need a practising Muslim brother (for Hijamah) from a “practical and medical” point of view? If he thinks that there is a “Qur’aan and Sunnah” method of Hijamah please provide reference.

Once you have understood someone’s point of view, feel free to “disagree” or “dislike” all you wish; it is your democratic right.

Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) recommending a Non-Muslim for Medical Treatment

Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqaas may Allaah be pleased with him said: “Once I was sick and the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) came to visit me, so he put his hand between my nipples until I felt its coolness at my heart and he said: “You are a man suffering from heart sickness, so go to Al-Harith ibn Kalladah, brother of Thaqeef, as he is a man who gives medical treatment. [Abu Dawud]

Missionary Objection: Was al-Harith bin Kalada the Source of the Prophet’s Medical Knowledge?

Oh, I forgot to mention...

Some scholars have said that Al-Harith ibn Kalladah later on accepted Islam and there is disagreement on the issue but at the time of this Hadeeth, he was 100% Non-Muslim.

I don't think the issue is what you are assume it is.

I think xs11ax needs someone who can diagnose external affairs - hence his persue of an authentic source.

A fake raqi or dodgy raqi is not reliable. This is what I understood from his reasoning.

For the 3rd time, we will discuss Ruqya in part 2. He is limiting his options so I just need to understand the reasons for the limitation.

From the little that I know...

1. Cupping on certain days.
2. Intention of practicing the sunnah by practitioner.
3. Reminding the patient to correct his intention.
4. Reciting quran/dhikr while cupping.
5. Being mindful of indication of sihr in the blood.

Just general stuff like that.

Edit: I always prefer to give business to practicing Muslims. Inshallah they will spend the money for the betterment of theirs and their family's akhirah.

And yes there is the aspect of barakah and Allah's help as well. Allah is with his slaves, inshallah.

So you have nothing technical to add. It is just general Barakah angle which you are adopting.

Allah Ta’ala and his Rasool (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) have not obligated you to do anything of this nature but we live in a Democracy so your money and your choice

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I know plenty of people who practice general wet cupping. I have the equipment myself. I am looking at hijamah as a way to diagnose sihr/jinn/nazar and not just for the medical benefits. I am told that sometimes outside influence can be detected by the smell, colour and consistency of the blood. Is this true?

Because this is the way he has been taught "Islam".

Allah Ta'ala and his Nabi (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) taught us to seek Medical Treatment from the best qualified person

  1. Firstly he has an assumption that he is afflicted with Black Magic etc and I am sure that he has reasons but there is no certainty in the matter to begin with.
  2. Secondly, he has made an assumption that cupping has the cure for it
  3. Thirdly, he has made an assumption that only a practising “Muslim” would know about it
  4. Fourthly, based on 1,2 & 3 only practising “Muslim” can cure it.

That's what we are supposed to do.
