:( That's very unfortunate. He narrates incidents which even a child can tell are fabricated. But still there are Ulama and laypeople who copy from him and pass on the lies. And what is more unfortunate is when we try to say something, we get to hear things like "so you know better than him?" :(

I have heard it from the ulema that if an alim makes a mistake then we should inform an alim who is senior to him to correct him because if we common Muslims will tell an alim that he has made a mistake, he will start using logic and give or create a daleel to defend his position. So it's better to tell a senior alim who can handle him better.

I'm genuinely surprised by what that brother is saying. That is not at all how the elders have taught this work. The circle that I have spent time with knows by default that the requirement is exactly what you are saying. Tazkiya along with the work of dawah.

Also it is a rule of Shariah that if there is a danger of creating fasaad because of telling the truth then remain silent in that situation.

I recall a very good book on the internet. "The Sunnah way of correcting other people's mistakes".

Here is the link.

"Ulama" are Muqallids.

Many of the graduates of Darul-ulooms are Muqallids whom we classify as "Ulama". Their level of Taqleed is not much different to laymen.

Those who excel this category and actually teach and are Hafidh of their Madhab (important distinction) are also Muqallids but their Taqleed differs.

Carefully read the following in English and Urdu

www.central-mosque.com/index.php/taqleed/the-legal-status...

Pages 46 on wards

ia800309.us.archive.org/12/items/TaqleedKiShariHaisiyatBy...

Page 85 onwards.

P.S: Being Muqallid an honour for us and not a problem as the Madkhalees think.

I don't listen to MTJ. Give an example please.

I do recall an incident from a very long time ago. About 20 years ago. I have unsuccessfully tried to find the recording. The recording was a talk by MTJ. In the talk MTJ claimed the ayat of the quran, 'kill and be killed' actually means, 'niklo aur nikalo' (go out and send others out in jamaat). An alim from Pakistan did a counter talk against this claim of MTJ. The alim was either Mufti Rasheed Ahmed Saheb, Mufti Yusuf Ludhiyanwi Saheb, or Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzi Saheb. Can't remember which. If anyone in Pakistan can find it I would be very grateful. I'm sure those who were connected to the tanzeems 20 years ago will remember it.

How would I know who is senior to whom? And how am I supposed to contact senior Ulama. You know they are far from our reach.

Anyways I'm attching some screenshots from the book Mawdhu ahadith se bachiye. The book is worth reading.

The reason this does not apply to you as a lay person in your context is because the (other) Muqallid (even if she is a graduate of a Madrasah) is narrating the Hadeeth on the authority of Hazrat Shaykhul-Hadeeth Maulana Zakariyya Kandhalwi (RA) exactly and precisely. The weak and doubtful Ahadeeth in Fazail-e-Aamaal are worded in a specific manner.

In the case of incident quoted by the brother, the person narrated a Hadeeth from memory and the exact words of the Muhadith could not be narrated. For example a person can say “Nabi (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) said…”

This is not how a Muhadith narrates a weak Hadeeth, read Fazail-e-Namaaz and the Hadeeth about fifteen punishments and notice the Urdu wordings very carefully and see how Hazrat Shaykhul-Hadeeth Maulana Zakariyya Kandhalwi (RA) has worded it.

The Urdu words of Hazrat Shaykhul-Hadeeth Maulana Zakariyya Kandhalwi (RA) are very precise, the English translation is NOT!

The Arabic is even more clear.

If you would have said that I “heard it” the situation would have been different. In your case the Muqallid is reading the precise (cautious) words of a Muhadith where he has doubts and he (RA) does express where he has doubts in Urdu clearly and unambiguously.

Anyone with basic grasp of Urdu language can tell the difference while reading Fazail-e-Amaal, I ask everyone to just read Fazail-e-Namaaz to grasp the issue on the most controversial parts of Fazail-e-Amaal.

P.S: 100% disagree with Hazrat Mufti Saheb (HA), Salaf NEVER gave permission to laymen (Muqallids) to go around advising people on Hadeeth.

Maulana Tariq Jameel (HA)'s bayans for the past 30+ years have been filled with weak, extremely weak and fabricated narrations. The Deobandees usually DO NOT have a problem with this issue which is the most important problem with Maulana Tariq Jameel (HA).

Deobandees think that Maulana Tariq Jameel (HA) praising Maulana Maududi (RA) or Maulana Ahmed Raza Khan Barelwee (RA) or Dr Farhat Hashmi OR speaking in front a university audience with women are BIGGER ISSUES then these narrations, tells you all you need to know about Deobandi priorities

Yes I've read Shaikh Zakaria RA has expressed his concern and written that the hadith is weak, but the problem is these ladies don't read what he has written afterwards..they just read the hadith and move on.

I wonder where mtj got this story from??

This was one of the reasons I left tj. I found out many of the 'hadith', etiquette, stories which I had learnt and propagated where no where to be found in islam

Even the words (his translation) is clear but as I am saying that they are not grasping it. There is a specific way he translates it which makes the doubt apparent. Tableeghees are neither taught this nor are interested.

The reason you are writing all of this is because Masha’Allah you have actually exerted the time and effort to understand these issues, a normal Deobandi woman would NEVER write this stuff in a million years because she will perform Hazrat Worship and be content with it. The Hazrats who give Bayans will treat most women like IDIOTS and never discuss these topics. The level of discourse amongst (most) women Bayans and Bayans amongst men is of different level (unfortunately).

YouTube has levelled the playing field and you are listening to issues TODAY which never in a million years you will listen in a women Bayan.

Instead of teaching women the subtleties of attending Moques and HOW and WHY, it’s easier to just say it is HARAM for you to attend the Mosque because you are too STUPID to grasp the technicalities of the points in a Bayan, same for haircuts etc.

That is why many well grounded, professional and Islamically proficient and knowledgeable Sisters are not Deobandees! Because they are spoken to the level of a child and treated like a child. This is in the west

I did my first 4 months 24 years ago. Even then we were being nurtured to believe that there is nothing but tablighi jamaat. We were even nurtured to believe we were better than muftis who had not spent 4 months as we were doing the work of the prophets. Note I am saying nurtured, not taught. Because it was done in a subtle way. When I wanted to join a madrasah to be an alim I was very heavily discouraged.

Fast forward 20 years later, I am still arguing with tablighis who claim there is nothing but tablighi. Tabligh is everything. You don't need anything apart from tablighi.
