The way the ulema today conduct themselves you can observe that it is way off from how the lives of our pious predecessors were. The ulema in the past preferred to remain anonymous chose poverty and hunger. where do you see such buzurgs today ?

Think from your heart. Of all the scholars on social media with their fatwas of permissibility of photography and using modern platform as need for propagation of deen as absolute necessity, does your heart ever accept even one of them to be an abdal or qutub ?
Never !!!
They are those who shun all the limelight.
whom you will not find on a youtube or a facebook.

Assalamua'laikum

Brother Afzal Yunus, I agree with you. But see as a Muslim, we shall always keep a good faith in everyone. The fatwa's change according to the situation. I am not a scholar or no way knowledgeable in deen. And I really don't have to put my opinion on this matter.

But, considering today scenario where almost all of the youth is spending time on Facebook & Youtube. It is obligatory on scholars to ensure that they put up their message on such channels to pass the message of Islam. There may be difference of opinion whether to take video or audio.

Let's not judge emaan of anyone as only Allah has that authority and live in good faith inshaAllah

Regards
Faiz

Lets try to get back to the topic...

What evidence does the person have to accuse Maulana Tariq Jameel (HA)? I am not a Tableeghi and not a fan of Maulana Tariq Jameel Saheb (HA) but as a "Muslim (let alone a scholar) his name has been dragged into a musical conccert, what connection does he have with a musical concert?

Halls:

Let’s get to the issue of Halls. Muslims don’t have the resources and the bandwidth to own major Halls in Canada, so instead of having Islamic schools and Mosques do you want Muslims to own Halls?

What is wrong in Islam in hiring halls?

P.S: I disagree with these events but not for these reasons because these reasons are merely slanders and accusations on the characters of people and that is Haram.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Brother, you made a mistake linking moulana tariq with the concert. We all make mistakes. Mistakes make us human. Just accept your mistake. Learn from it. And move on having benefited from this by increasing your understanding and wisdom. It will make YOU a better person and you will be able to serve the deen even better by learning from it and implementing what you have learnt. The only people that will look down on you for accepting your mistakes are the people that don't matter. The people that do matter will have more respect for you for accepting and learning from your mistake.

Just the same as colonel, I am also not a fan of MTJ and such venues. But that does not mean we should lower ourselves by trying to find any which way to attack and degrade them. By doing so we are just degrading ourselves.

The program itself: risconvention.com/program/. If I see a program and I see certain Scholars going to it I assume they condone the actions and events that take place over there. I am sure a lot of people do that.

A believer shouldn't go where people can point fingers at him. This type of stuff confuses laymen like me, you are an advanced layman.

I will inshaAllah Ta'ala learn from my mistake and even apologize for it, I was not aware there was no correlation. I didn't know that if you participate and speak for a brand, you can do so without supporting their actions.
MTJ is sending a wrong image. Open Fisq is being perpetrated on his part by free mixing and speaking just before a music session.

Sorry, I apologise and take back what I said. I didn't realise this was one big event. I thought the singing concert was separate and the conference was separate and that they were being held at the same venue, but at different times.

I know my opinion does not hold much weight, but I would like to say I am personally against these type of events.

The promo video is enough to tell me this event is fitnah upon fitnah! I wonder how much MTJ is making on this job for him to throw down his principles and the principles of the deobandi tradition.

Events like these and support for events like these from supposedly conservative orthodox ulama like MTJ is bad in itself, but it also opens the doors to other fitan such as this...

Let me try this again, really SLOWLY...

  1. Maulana Tariq Jameel (HA) has NOTHING to do with the concert which you referred to.
  2. You may disagree with the SEPARATE PROGRAM which he is part of and that is fine.

You have publicly made a slander and made an accusation which is Haram.

You can admit your mistake and simply say,

"I misunderstood that the CONCERT was connected to the same program. I was wrong and make Taubah to Allah Ta'ala.“

OR you can continue with your Nafs and Ego and be dragged in front of Allah Ta’ala and answer for your utterance for which you will have no defence.

You (and I BOTH) disagree with the program of Maulana Tariq Jameel (HA) and (You and I BOTH) think that he should not do the program BUT he has nothing to do with the Music program.

Let’s see if the Noor of Hidayat has penetrated your heart or your Nafs rules your life and can potentially lead you headlong into the fire of Jahannum.

P.S: I am pretty sure that you are understanding very clearly and in plain English what I am writing.

What I am saying is right after he spoke there were musicians singing. Is it not his duty to speak out against it? Or is he not Mukallaf on this?

Does it not make him complicit in the sin because people that pay tickets to come to see him also may end up watching the concert that took place right after his speech. Yea the A.R Rahman concert is after. But now I am asking you about whether or not he is responsible for being the Scholar that he is to condemn the people after him.

Their tableegh depends upon أمر بالمعروف and narrating فضائل. You will rarely see them forbiding evil. That is how their nature is.

It does not concern us whether Maulana Sahab will be held responsible for it or not. He is not our ideal. Our ideal is Muhammad Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Inna lillah wa inna ilayhi rajioon. He gets respect on the basis of being an Heir of our beloved Prophet sallahu alayhi wa sallam. He should be a complete role model.

People look up to him and justify wrong because of his actions.

He is my Muslim brother it concerns me if he does something wrong. I care and make duaa for him. Like he makes duaa for us. Again I never said any negative terms towards him. The program is garbage.
