Yes, his father the late infamous Shah of Iran, was installed by the C.I.A. from a constitutional symbolic king to a full time ruler after they overthrew the democratically elected leader Mosaddegh 1953.
The late SHAH was known as a Playboy with love for nightclubs, womanising and casinos across Europe. He was educated in France had an obsession with French culture. He even moved his French teacher in to his palace Iran, and it is rumoured in Iran and even book written after the Islamic revolution alleging the French Teacher and the Shah had a homosexual relationship. As for religion he was an extreme secularist, and a perenniallist at best believing in universality of all religions or agnostic at worst.
This son that the Mossad and CIA want to install is much the same, he comes across as a European in all his mannerisms, dress, and behaviour.
Don't think he will have much success in assuming leadership even if the present regime is overthrown, too much of a foreigner to have any semblance of legitimacy, or even nominal semblance of Shia religion within him, although claims to be one. He could not get away with pretending to be an Iranian, patriot of he tried.
Incidentally his mother the wife of the Shah and so-called Queen and Empress of Iran is still alive and in her late 80's. And lives in America like her son, she herself was also educated in France and raised in French Culture.
