Like Unani Medicine the Ayurvedic Medicine is based on natural products. The focus is on various Bhasmas - the ashes. In my experience Unani, Ayurvedic and Homeopathic Medicines are better in their own regimes whenever these are effective. These are better because of the reduced side effects. My personal favourite allopathic physician uses Ayurvedic products whenever it is suitable. Recently I have been struggling for one and half a month about digestive issues my infant son was having and the pediatricians simply could not help. Unani Medicine started showing effects within a day relaxing me as well as my wife.

Of course when it comes to infections and surgery then the MBBS kind of medicines win hands down.

I hope this helps.
