Some Background Info

  1. In a society there are two kinds of people.
    • The creative minority which is sensitive to its surroundings, is pro-active and morally conscious. They are the trend setters.
    • The second group is the silent majority which is insensitive, in active, selfish and mediocre in intelligence on both emotional and intellectual levels.
  2. There are two kinds of Islams. Islam on micro level. Islam on macro level. Micro Islam applies on individuals and if the creative minority is trained in it, it practices it. The majority in a secular state [A state without Shariah as It’s political socio-economic system] doesn’t practice Islam. Macro Islam is the complete Shariah system enforced by the state on its citizens.
  3. In my humble understanding, masjid is the intellectual, spiritual, social, political, judicial and military center of the Islamic Civilization. On the other hand, home is the first university for a Muslim and it is the temporary resting place in this dunya.
    • Madrassah and Khanqah are the extensions of Masjid. [Hujrah of As-hab-e-Suff]. In madrassah, external form of Islam is taught, In Khanqah, internal form of Islam is experienced.
    • In secular environment, only the creative minority benefits from madrassah and khanqah. Except Friday prayers, the majority doesn’t come to the masjid, let alone benefitting from madaris and khanqahs.
  4. Purpose of life is to establish a strong connection with Allah.
    • “Am I not your Lord?” [al-A‘raaf 7:172],
    •  Aqaid and Ibadaat being the foundations help establish this connection.
    • The rights of makhlooq are there to ensure such an environment where all men and women are able to establish their connection with Allah without distractions while living together as a society because they are dependent on each other for their physical, spiritual, emotional and mental wellbeing. Man is a social being.
    •  For instance, if we guard our eyes from non-mahram and haram actions, we will have more khusu in Salah as compared to the state of our carelessness. If those who are close to us fulfil their duties and we fulfill ours then we will have our full attention towards our Lord inside and outside the masjid. Therefore, we can safely conclude that rights of makhlooq are there to ensure that everybody gets the best environment in which one could acknowledge and worship one’s Lord. So Huqooq ul Ibad are the key to focused worship of Lord and focused worship is the key to Jannah.
    •  Masjid purifies the soul, madrassah teaches it the knowledge of right and wrong and huqooq. Khanqah enhances and polishes its capabilities and cures its disease so that it can perform good actions and prevent from bad actions with ease.
  5. What masjid, madrassah and khanqah does to the creative minority, Khilafa enforces it on the silent majority. So, masjid is the spiritual center and khilafa is its enclosure. The creative minority applies Islam on itself through self-discipline taught in masjid, madrassah and khanqah.
    • The state on the other hand disciplines the silent majority with force and state level education and training.
    • Masjid is the state of individuals while a true Islamic State is the state of the whole nation.
  6. Everyone is telling the truth. Every righteous organization or individual. Tablighis, sufis, ulema, Hamza, Muhammad Hijab, Dr. Israr RH are all telling the truth. However, everyone is telling his own version, his own perception, of truth according to his own scope, level of observation of reality. The ultimate and complete truth is only known by Allah. However, we can learn from the experiences of others and refine ourselves and our strategies to avoid pitfalls and failures they faced.

The Problem

The problem with this Ummah is three faceted.

1. Economic Pressure
2. Spiritual Immaturity
3. Ideological Ignorance

1. The Economic Pressure:

The interest-based economy, pollution, wars, credit crunch, multi-nationals, corporate culture, commercialization, artificiality, superficiality, away from nature, complicated life, industrialization etc.

There are many factors both internal and external, which have played in making our lives complicated. Meeting even the basic needs for a common citizen is very difficult. Situation is even worse in the third world.

In such a situation why would a common person pay attention to the call? How will he take interest in learning and practicing the deen. I am not talking about a 9 to 5 employee or a businessman. I am talking about a man who can’t afford the fees for his children’s education. When they get sick, he can’t pay for their medicine. He can’t buy them new clothes on Eid.

Is there time for such a person to learn his deen even if he wants to? Will he praise his Lord while living in a society where people of wealth are willing to buy expensive food for their cats and dogs but are not willing to help the poor?

Will he be impressed and be affected by the lengthy flashy weekly sermons in the masjid where as only one loaf of bread or one bottle of medicine was enough to melt his heart?

Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:
‘Poverty almost leads to disbelief.’

Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al-Khudry (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) once made the following du’a:
‘O Allah I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty.’
Someone enquired: ‘Are these two equal?’
Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) replied: ‘Yes.’
(Sahih Ibn Hibban, Hadith: 1026 – Al-Ihsan)

2. Spiritual Immaturity:

Our souls like our bodies need spiritual nourishment for their growth, stability, health and strength.

Whether one is rich or poor, a person not connected to Allah, not connected to masajid is spiritually immature. He is not at peace. He is not happy. Constant conflict inside him. Confused. Restless. Ego centric. Impatient. Angry with himself, his life, his surroundings.

The poor man is suffering from inferiority complex and thus is dis appointed. He sees no way out of this mess. Satan is constantly leading him to the path of destruction. If this situation continues, he may commit suicide or become a criminal. I am not talking about that kind of poor man who can’t afford kites on Basant. I am talking about a real poor man who can’t afford food, cloth, shelter, health facilities.

On the other hand, that rich guy who is not introduced to Islam or is afraid of it and is brainwashed by the media. Or maybe “PIOUS” Muslims have not treated him kindly, were judgemental and rude, made him hate Islam. That guy is lonely from the inside.

Our surroundings are the reflection of our inner reality. I am not saying that our surroundings don’t affect us. I am not saying that we are 100% immune to the attitudes of people around us. But he who is content from the inside. Who has a strong connection with his Creator. Who has been upgraded from Nafs -e- Lawwama to Nafs e Mutmainnah and above; the effect of his surroundings will be minimized on him. On the contrary, he will have a positive and gentle effect on his surroundings. He will affect the surroundings instead of letting the surroundings affect him if he has sufficient spiritual strength in him. His inner strength and courage, contentment and trust in Allah will give him the determination to keep moving forward on the straight path.

Those who are weak from the inside can’t affect others in a positive manner. Their dawah is in-effective. Those who can’t help themselves, can’t help others.

One of the major problems of our times are that we have too much tension in our breasts. Those who are easily irritated and are easy to get angry can’t remain strong against the Tsunami of Secularism and Dajjalism. They can’t survive this series of great fitnas. They are uncertain of themselves. Confused. Weak connection with masajid and laziness in acts of worship have weakened the perceptions of their spiritual hearts resulting in the weakness of their connection with Allah. Thus, they are a feast for satan.

We can’t avoid the effects of secularism 100%. But by purifying our souls on constant basis and by establishing a strong connection with masajid, salah, dhikr, Quran, we can minimize the spiritual damage done to us.

Narrated by Ibn Isa, and recorded in Abu-Dawood Hadith #3325

“There will come a time when you will not be able to find a single person in the world who will not be consuming riba. And if anyone claims that he is not consuming riba then surely the dust of riba will reach him.”

3. Ideological Ignorance:

“Throughout history many nations have suffered a physical defeat, but that has never marked the end of a nation. But when a nation has become the victim of a psychological defeat, then that marks the end of a nation.”

Ibn Khaldun – The Muqaddimah: An Introduction to History

Those who forget their identity, lose themselves. They don’t know their purpose of life. Uncertainty and confusion are the biggest psychological torture a person can have.

Slave nations always borrow their solutions from their masters. They think the way as their masters want them to think. Sometimes they say Islam is compatible to democracy so they coin the term Islamic democracy and faithfully believe that this satanic system will solve their problems. Sometimes they compare Islam to socialism and coin the term Islamic socialism and believe it to be the perfect socio-economic system.

Then comes the liberal or secular Islam. Despite of allowing Islam to change them, they want to change Islam itself according to their own wishes.

Not all of them are crooks. Many of them genuinely believe what they believe but are unfortunately un educated in the true teachings of Islam. They have been programmed like this.

The thing is that have we educated them in the way they can understand and comprehend? Have we come to their intellectual level? Have we understood our deen in depth the way it was supposed to be? Or are we just content (including me) in winning debates?

Win the hearts and not debates because this is the battle of hearts and minds.

They have been running THE ONLY GLOBAL ISLAMIC organisation for close to 100 years and despite all the opposition and hatred it has not retreated but expanded. They MUST BE doing something right! | Muadh Khan

The Solution

The solution to the problems of this ummah is also three faceted.

1. The Masjid Solution for curing Spiritual Immaturity.
2. The Dawah of Islamic Identity for removing Ideological Ignorance
3. A Community of Helpers Solution for Economic Pressure.

I have already discussed in detail on the first two solutions in the following links.

Summary of 20 Years of my Life

How to defeat Secularism

Here I will shed some light on the third facet of the solution.

Synopsis

Tablighi Jamaat has still survived because it is working on a grass root fundamental level. Its apolitical nature protects it from a lot of fitnas. However, if growth means vast numbers then definitely this movement is growing. However, if growth means quality then definitely it is declining.

Without correct ilm and tazkiya , TJ is trying to kill the elephant with water guns. It’s our soul which communicates via the vehicles of our bodies. If the soul isn’t purified enough then how will it’s dawah affect the other souls in a manner that they change their character for good. The deeper your soul is purified, the larger the impact it has on others. Tabligh just scratches the surface while Tazkiyyah cleans the Ruh on a more deeper and subtle level.

Thawdan (RA) narrated “Allah’s Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘Imminently, there will come a time when the nations gather against you, just as people gather around a feast.’ A man said, ‘Will it be because we are few at that time, O Allah’s Messenger?’ He responded, ‘No, you will be numerous in those times, but you will be as useless as the scum of the sea, and Allah will remove the fear that your enemies used to possess from you from their chests, and He will place al-Wahn in your hearts’, it was said, ‘What is al-Wahn?’, he responded, ‘Love of life, and hatred of death.’” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud]

So, it’s quality not quantity.

Ikhwan ul Muslimeen failed because its leaders lacked traditional understanding of Islam. They were unable to acknowledge the fact that they are living in a one world global state.

Any group if tries to revolt against this global system is immediately crushed by it. Exceptional is the land which is still free from this global enslavement to some extent. Where men of steel have the courage to stand against the coalition of tyrants.

Before labeling me, a conspiracy nut job people must think that not everything is a conspiracy and not everything is a fact as well.

Can you deny that USA has a global presence with around 800 bases?

Can you deny that it is the only super power left for the time being and we are living in a unilateral world?

Can you deny that it’s reigns is in the hands of Jews?

Can you deny that 96% of the media around the world is under control of very few companies controlled by the Jews, Disney being one of them.

Can you deny the effects of repeated propaganda on one’s mind? Can you deny that Hitler, Stalin, Mao, the Roman Empire have used similar techniques to control their nations? Then if it is practiced today through media and education then does it become a conspiracy theory?

Do you deny the fact that the jews are waiting for their Messaiah the Anti-Christ?

Do you deny that Zionism and protocols of the elders of zion are realities?

Can you deny that the Jews have been conspiring even in Madina against the Prophet SAWS and Islam?

Will you declare Dr.Israr Ahmed RH as a conspiracy theorist?

So, no! Not everything is a conspiracy theory and not everything is a fact.

Khair, coming back to the point. The good thing about Ikhwan ul Muslimeen is their well planned, well organized and well executed social welfare system.

So, we take the strategy of fadhail and simple dawah methods from TJ, take the social welfare system from Ikhwans, take ilm and tazkiyah on fardh e Ayn level at least from madaris and khanqah and combine them all in one package in a manner that is practical and doable within the limits of our capabilities.

Solution

1. Let us serve our local communities within the context of our expertise.

If Ikhwans built clinics and hospitals with affordable and cheap health facilities.

Then doctors among us can examine poor patients for free for one hour daily in their private clinics or in their own homes.

If they built affordable schools then...

Ulema among us can teach deeni uloom. Common Mulsims could teach the Faraidh and Sunnahs of Ghusl, Wudu, Salah. Tajweed Rules for reciting Quran. They can also teach to read and write.

Charity Food caravans or door to door delivery service to the poor of our community can be arranged. Such as this…

Muslims Feeding the Homeless in the West

Each able citizen of the community can save food for one person from his daily dinner and lunch and distribute it through these caravans with his own hands.

Every able person can donate one set of his used clothes per year to those who can’t afford clothes.

Our women can dedicate one hour daily to teach girls and women of their communities, any skill they know like knitting, cooking, designing, software development etc.

Why can’t we become a community of scholars and students? Of helpers. Of educators.

We don’t need buildings for that. We don’t need to be billionaires to help others.

Simple small tasks and easy creative ways can help much. This will bring the people together. They will listen.

2. Any man can read a good translation of Quran and clear to the point summary in Quran circles in masajid without of course, adding his own explanations. I think translations similar to “Asaan Tarjuma Quran ka ” can also be found in English.

Likewise, Riyad us Saliheen or any other authentic hadith book for fadhail can be used without criticizing Fadhail e Amaal. We must avoid any possible conflict as much as possible. We mustn’t let satan divide us. Why should we insist on being children and fight for petty issues? Will Allah ask us that why you did or didn’t use sahih or daeef ahadith for enjoining good and admonishing evil? At the end of the day it’s the amaal which are important towards which the ahadith are indicating us to do? Very few are interested in the amaal and many among us are quarreling about the source of such and such hadith. Similarly, what’s wrong in using sahih ahadith only for fadhail?

Are we going to act upon our deen out of zidd of people not belonging to our maslak or are we going to use some common sense? When are we going to grow up as an Ummah and leave group mentality without compromising on our beliefs and values?

Crush the problems before they occur…

With the majalis of Quran and Virtue of Good Deeds, I don’t see any need for bayans other than Friday Khutbah. If Tablighis or any other group wants to do bayans, let them do. However, it is my belief that we need to do more practical work rather than talks.

3. Majalis of dhikr without bayans to uplift and strengthen our souls.

4. We must revive the beautiful sunnah of saying salam to everyone regardless of creed, color, race, culture or maslak. Nothing should stop us from saying salam to each other. What an irony that we all want Jannah but even the pious among us have left the amaal which will be practiced even in Jannah? What a bigger irony that all of us are afraid of qiyamah yet we are doing nothing to delay it.

You want to open the lock without a key? You are a thief. Salam and smile is the key to ones heart. Where is the salam, where is the smile? A Muslim stranger is still a Muslim. You wanna give dawah to him but without melting the ice first? How strange. Where is the warmth and where are the akhlaq? We think that murdering people is bad but we overlook harming others soul? How strange. Yet we complain for our miseries? To whom are we kidding?

Woe to every scorner and mocker

Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it.

He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal.

No! He will surely be thrown into the Crusher.

And what can make you know what is the Crusher?

It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled,

Which mounts directed at the hearts.

Indeed, Hellfire will be closed down upon them

In extended columns.

Sura al -Humaza – Quran

Caution

1. Everyone can participate in this community of helpers but everyone shouldn’t be allowed to take dawah and administrative tasks in their own hands.

2. Learning from the experience of difficulty controlling such a huge organization like TJ, the community helpers should be a small scale, local, easily manage-able project. The Administrative Guard can and must train other people so they could start similar projects in their communities but with independent local leaderships.

Actually, surveyors is a better name for them. They will do a survey of how many poor people live in their community. What are their needs. They will also give dawah to the community to participate. They will also do online and offline dawah to other communities to initiate similar projects.

3. Instead of donations and money people must participate with physical items. Administrators are there just to keep things in order. Otherwise it is the matter of participants to help the needy in the way they can.

Administrators will only make sure that all the needy get equal attention and they will tell the participants about where and what kind of help is needed at the moment.

4. Learning from the experience of Ikhwan ul Muslimeen, avoid discussing politics or controversial subjects. When khilafa is not in our hands then leave it online for ideological purposes. We must focus on what we are able to do. This project must remain apolitical.

5. We must invite others to start similar projects in their areas so that at least the creative minority starts thinking along these lines.

I can’t remember the verse but it states that those who don’t invite others to feed the poor will be punished (something like that).

So Dawah, Ilm, Tazkiya and Khidmat (Social Welfare) must be combined in one package to benefit ourselves and our communities materially, spiritually and ideologically.

Concluding Remarks

Bottom line is that no one is perfect. Every person including me and every organization has flaws. We must learn from ours and others’ experiences and overcome those flaws and consistently refine our personalities as well as our strategies.

Each community may change the methodology according to their own circumstances and situations.

The creative minority of each community must realize its role and must lead the silent majority in practicing the deen as much as possible. The able must help the unable to practice their deen. They must create their communities, local welfare states without any political agenda.

The Kuffar...

They call us wasteful. We must show them that we are productive. They call us ignorant. We must show them that we are a people who love share and cherish knowledge. They call us haters. We must show them that we adore peace. They call us hungry. We must show them that we feed the hungry while bearing hunger. They call us crazy. We must show them that we are creative. They call us lazy. We must show them that we are active. NOT WITH WORDS BUT WITH ACTIONS BECAUSE ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS…

Taking advice from Ahmed Deedat RH, the one who proposes an idea is the best person to start and initiate it. Means that we are good in suggesting but don’t make the first move. Therefore, I have found my purpose of life and Insha Allah, am starting this project from today. I will be updating in this thread about my progress. I encourage the members to initiate similar projects in their communities if they like my ideas. I would be happy to see practical work instead of favorable ratings.

May Allah bless this Ummah. May Allah make us meet and celebrate in Jannah.

Side note: I love Tablighi Jamaat and all the genuine organizations and institutions of the deen. My moral support and duas are for all of them despite of the fact that I have difference of opinion in methodology and not the essence.

Problem:

Muslims and the Ummah has just ONE PROBLEM.

Lack of Leadership and Institutions

Rest of the issues are symptoms and you can get a list a mile long.

I have mentioned leadership and institutions for a reason. In the past we have had drunken Caliphs who were useless but the (judicial, bureaucratic, military) institutions kept on functioning despite the leadership gone missing.

Take lessons from Donald Trump presidency, American influence is being irreversibly damaged due to lack of leadership but the Institutions are still functioning. IF Donald Trump (and Chaos) continues it will damage American Institutions and rob them of their ability to function.

Then you will have a crisis of leadership and Institutions

Solution:

Ulama have a role to play but they NEVER have and NEVER will be “leaders” of the Ummah. Allah Ta’ala blessed us with exceptional Ulama who fulfilled both roles but by and large the leaders, ministers, military commanders were not Ulama but they worked UNDER Ulama and within the bounds of their consultancy.

Anyone (specially Indian Muslims) who think that Jamiat Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind or AIMPLB will lead Indian Muslims out of their chaos is delusional. BUT there is a role which Ulama can play.

Islamic Institutions (from India to American) are rife with nepotism, you get to certain positions because you are Bay’t to someone or son/grandson of someone and not because you are the most able person for the job. Take a look at visiting Mashaykh on any given day and you will witness this on posters and their claim to fame is bloodline. I am surprised that those on the forum who post conspiracy theories about Illuminati bloodlines don’t have a problem with this (I am not saying it is sinister, I am saying that it is nepotism many times…It is possible for a son/grandson to be capable BUT NOT at all times).

DROP NEPOTISM AND FAVORTISM FROM ISLAMIC INSTITUTIONS, YOU WILL WITNESS RESULTS IN 5-10 YEARS!

Agreed. The problem is leadership. This is where Macro Islam comes. And this is why Imam Mahdi - The True Leader will come. However, we can do only whatever is in our power. This will not resolve the issue. But this will reduce the damage and in the process we may save as many people as possible from their eman being wasted including us.

That can only be done if people of ikhlas rise above the ranks and come in power because correction starts from top and not from bottom. However, in this materialistic world where the dunia has been "make upped" and beautified, ikhlas is difficult to attain. The sincere ones have always been few. Although, when divinely guided spiritual leader comes, he will influence those around him and will lead this Ummah from chaos to victory Insha Allah. Actually great leaders are gifts of Allah and for that one has to pay the price. The price of great leadership is blood. So the blood of Ummah will be shed to a great extent as a payback for the negligence and open sinful attitude of the Muslims as a whole. For this 3rd world war is coming. When enough blood of Ummah is shed, Allah will have mercy on us and He will gift us with Imam Mahdi. Our job is to preserve our eman and help others in preserving theirs till we die whether we witness the worldly victory of Muslims or die before that happens.
