Sincere question. When whites come to the masjid in the UK, do many people assume he is a spy?

I witnessed that in the UK, but there may have been a valid reason for that particular case.

The body of 46-year-old Mohammed Sarfraz Akhtar was pulled out of The Dyke, at The Rye, in London Road, on February 21.

Shafat Ali, secretary of the Wycombe Islamic Mission and Mosque Trust, told the Bucks Free Press he knew Mr Akhtar as he regularly prayed at the Jubilee Road and Castlefield mosques......

there is a video doing the rounds on whatsapp where Mohammed Sarfraz Akhtar is being berated in the masjid by the chairman in front of the rest of the musallis. claiming that he fights with people etc so he is only allowed in the masjid at salaat time and has to come with wudhu and must leave straight after salaat. im not sure how to share it here.

Now is a good time to open the doors for the poor and needy. The Masjid's will be full of life inshaAllah.

The Month of Ramadhan can be used to spread the Deen further, feed the poor and let them fast without the fear of not getting any food for Suhor and Iftar.

I am sharing the following with great disappointment. We support a homeless organisation and yes this organisation isn’t a Muslim organisation they just go where people are in need they help everyone regardless of gender, race and religion. My children during the year buy sanitary towels, food, plastic cutlery even there own clothes in winter etc whatever is needed for the time and provide for homeless or vulnerable people. Some are very ill and have terminal illness they get harassed by the police.

Fortunately this organisation have voluntary doctors and vets who help where possible Yes some of them are alcoholics, drug users etc but they are still human.

Few days ago a sister contacted this organisation saying If they could support them at east london masjid to provide for the homeless. We were quite surprised that they were opening there doors.

A day later this sister phoned back saying she couldn’t make it and for the organisation to carry on with whatever support they were going to provide. The organiser returned a call to her text message she said the masjid was no place for alcoholics.

The organiser called the masjid directly to ask if they were interested in supporting the homeless in the area. They said they weren’t interested because they already feed 500 people a day. He asked if these people were homeless no response the guy from the masjid hung up the call. Answer is no they are not homeless people they are people who attend the masjid for prayers!!!

Not only Am I embarrassed by the response but I am fuming. It is Ramadan where we are taught to feed the needy. Really? these people coming for prayers are needy for what?

Well this experience has driven us to get up and support those in need even more. They have got to know these volunteers and even approach them not for money but in desperation for food or health needs or just someone to talk to.

Shame on the Muslims who think they are doing good during Ramadan. Allah is watching. Alhamdulillah

Contact the people of masjid and explain to them. Until one is sure they will help needy people, I personally feel we shouldn't give any hopes to anyone as that would leave only bad impression. Allahu alam

Sis it never works like that. Masjids do feel a type of negative contamination by opening the doors to non Muslims. Never mind those with alcohol and mental health issues. It is across the board, nothing new. Was hoping things had improved in this day and age.
