No people are naïve and unable to draw the line which is the issue. The exaggeration on my part was deliberate. In every age, Ulama have set the example and lived a lifestyle which is deliberately cautious and ascetic. There are plenty of examples where Ulama have issued a Fatwa (of permissibility) but refrained from the matter personally (as an example).
In our times, Ulama are not issuing a Fatwa because they lack the academic rigour and capacity but living a life which is two steps ahead of the doubtful.
They are supposed to refrain from “doubtful”, having a birthday cake is not doubtful it is plain and simple emulation of the unbelievers.
Then we have agent provocateurs such as yourself who wish to strip every semblance of Sunnah out of the lives of believers and will not rest unless Aisha walks NAKED while flirting with every man on the street and then your heart will be pleased and your Nafs will be delighted that you have partly achieved your objective of gender parity.
Maybe America will pass a law which will require Muslims to cut cakes and celebrate birthdays and then a Fatwa can be issued (or common sense can be applied), until then Mufti Hussain Kamani has tried to be hip and cool and get a few more followers on Social Media by posting this picture.
It serves NO OTHER PURPOSE at this time.
