I wanted to find out whether the concept of Taqleed Shaksi also extends to following one opinion, or scholar even in the same madhab?
For example, if someone has been following Mufti Ebrahim Desai for a long time who holds the view digital photograpy, and video falls under the category of tasweer, then all of a sudden does a U-turn, and embraces the view of Mufti Taqi Usmani who holds the opposing opinion out of desire - would this sort of fatwa acrobatic play be condemned by scholars?
If so, then this in essence would mean, whenever there is a difference of opinion, and unless you're someone of knowledge who can deduce the academic reasoning behind a fatwa, then by default it'd be incumbent on you as a complete novice layperson to accept/follow the haram position to be safe.
I've come across many Hanafi/Deobandi scholars mention this time, and time again.
This would mean that every time you learn something , hear something in a bayan, or see your community doing something, you would have to check and see what your mufti says about such views and whether he holds opposing views. This would make life very difficult for the average person, who has no idea what position s various muftis hold. Furthermore, many people do not even have a ask a mufti anything, so they have no mufti they follow.
Take 2? okay fair enough. Although you've been going round asking this question a few times, I was hoping you would let us know what you found out instead!
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
